Essential Job Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Reconciles accounts to the G/L, including cash accounts, accounts receivable, accounts payable and all balance sheet accounts
  • Prepares and records daily journal entries, verifying that all transactions are properly entered into the G/L
  • Maintains a general awareness of all G/L activities; acts to protect the financial assets and keeps Property Controller informed of any concerns
  • Maintains General Ledger; Fixed Assets; Reconciliations; and Financial Reporting
  • Prepares monthly journal entries consisting of, but not limited to, inventory, insurance, and monthly allocations
  • Assists with the month-end G/L closing, including preparing monthly journal entries and reviewing month journal entries from Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable
  • Assists with year-end audit
  • Maintains a thorough knowledge and understanding of the accounting software system
  • Assists with preparation, filing and mailing of IRS filings and returns
  • Assists with preparation, tracking, processing, and reconciliation of Accounts Payable for the property

Skills, Education and Other Requirements:

  • B.A. in Accounting or 3 years of related work experience
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Highly motivated, able to meet deadlines and work with little supervision
  • Must be proficient in all Microsoft Office programs and Excel
  • Knowledge of Great Plains accounting, Excel and database knowledge preferred
  • Knowledge of Title 31 and Bank Secrecy Act preferred
  • Knowledge of Nevada Gaming rules and regulations preferred
  • Identification that establishes identity
  • Identification that establishes the right to work in the United States
  • Registered with Nevada Gaming Control Board
