Job summary:

We are seeking an experienced and proactive attorney to serve as Senior Counsel, Insurance, supporting both Integrity Health and Integrity Life & Annuities business divisions. The Senior Counsel, Insurance will report to the General Counsel, Insurance and will serve as the lead transactional lawyer, legal advisor, and healthcare regulatory counsel for Integrity's insurance portfolio of companies. The individual will negotiate with counterparties on important commercial transactions, prepare transactional documents, and provide daily advice on regulatory and compliance matters at the federal and state levels.

Let's talk job responsibilities:

  • Serve as the primary legal advisor for Integrity Health and Integrity Life & Annuities, leading transactional work supporting all portfolio companies, as well as regulatory work for the Health companies.
  • Advise on regulatory considerations impacting healthcare products, including Medicare Advantage, Medicare Supplement, Part D, ACA, ICHRA, and ancillary products.
  • Review, draft, and negotiate commercial agreements with key counterparties.
  • Partner with executive teams across Integrity Health and Integrity Life & Annuities (including Presidents, C-level leaders, and compliance teams) to manage and execute strategic, corporate, and regulatory reorganizations.
  • Provide legal support for advisor and client transitions, ensuring compliance and risk mitigation.
  • Collaborate with compliance and regulatory teams to maintain robust internal processes for transactions, compliance, and risk management.
  • Review and approve responses to audits from CMS, state Departments of Insurance, and carrier partners.
  • Manage dispute resolution with regards to complaints and inquiries from CMS, state Departments of Insurance, and carrier partners.
  • Prepare and deliver regulatory training to portfolio companies and agents related to regulatory requirements including sales practices.
  • Work collaboratively with important stakeholders across Integrity Health, Integrity Life & Annuities, and Integrity as a whole to ensure that important business objectives are met.

Your experience and skills:

  • Strong healthcare regulatory background with 4-6 years of experience at CMS, a state Department of Insurance, NAIC, a law firm, or in-house legal department at a broker or carrier.
  • Solid transactional background in commercial agreements, M&A, or fund-related work, with at least 4-6 years of experience at a law firm or in-house.
  • Exceptional drafting, negotiation, and critical thinking skills.
  • Proactive, confident leader with the ability to provide real-time clear, practical legal advice in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to quickly learn and address diverse legal issues, including reorganizations, regulatory matters, commercial transactions, and product-specific considerations.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; collaborative and team-oriented approach with the ability to identify, initiate, and conclude strategic objectives in a "no ego" environment.
  • Solutions-focused mindset with willingness to "roll up sleeves" and tackle complex challenges independently.
  • Confident legal advisor who demonstrates reasoned balance between risk management and business practicalities.
  • Strong intellectual curiosity and commitment to professional growth.
  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to practice law in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.
  • 4-6 years of experience in a top-tier law firm or comparable in-house role.
