POSITION SUMMARY:
This key role is responsible for overseeing the successful execution of electrical projects from initiation to completion, ensuring adherence to project specifications, timelines, and budget. The Project Manager will serve as the primary point of contact for clients, subcontractors, foremen and internal teams, ensuring effective communication and collaboration throughout the project lifecycle.
The Project Manager's main objective is to keep the project running on schedule and to provide the foreman with all necessary information, material, direction and resources to assist with project momentum and morale. Additionally, this role provides mentorship and guidance to assistant project managers, ensuring their professional development and growth.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Hand-off:
  • Collaborate with the Estimating team to ensure smooth project transition.
  • Review project specifications, drawings, and estimates, ensuring accurate project scoping.
  • Manage submittal process and accuracy.
  • Coordinate with design to submit preconstruction shop drawings.
  • Source and manage subcontractors.
  • Coordinate with General Contractor to understand project objectives, deliverables, and expectations.
  • Develop project plans, schedules, and budgets, ensuring alignment with General Contractor requirements and company policies.

Procurement:
  • Collaborate with the Purchasing team to ensure the timely procurement of materials and equipment.
  • Coordinate lead times and procurement logs with General Contracting team.

Project kick-off:
  • Review General Contractor schedules.
  • Ensure we have the proper materials, training, resources, equipment/tools, and information required to start the project on time and begin the project in a proactive and efficient manner.

Project Coordination:
  • Collaborate with the estimating team to prepare change orders and update project cost tracking as needed.
  • Maintain Schedule of Values.
  • Manage project budgets, approve invoices, and ensure cost control measures are in place.
  • Monitor project milestones, proactively identifying and resolving any delays or obstacles.
  • Conduct regular project meetings to communicate project progress, check on morale, identify and address potential issues, and provide solutions.
  • Conduct daily projections and input data. Coordinate with senior staff if additional resources are needed.

KEY QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, construction management, business or a related field (required).
  • Proven experience as a Project Manager in the construction industry, overseeing medium to large-scale projects.
  • Solid understanding of construction flow, PM management tools, and best practices.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize.
  • Strong leadership abilities, with a track record of successfully managing cross-functional teams.
  • Exceptional problem-solving skills, with the capacity to anticipate and resolve project-related challenges.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical information to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Proficient in project management software and tools.
  • Willingness to relocate to for an on-site position (position in the Hillsboro/Portland and Battle Ground, WA area).
  • Availability to travel to site visits, client or team meetings (if required).
  • This is a safety sensitive position. Must be able to pass a drug test, background check, and driving check.
