As our company continues to grow, we are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Assistant Estimator to join our Pre-Construction team. Position Summary

The Assistant Estimator plays a key role in supporting the successful delivery of accurate and competitive project estimates. This position assists the Pre-Construction team with the administrative, analytical, and organizational aspects of the estimating process while developing the skills necessary for advancement within the department.

The ideal candidate is highly organized, proactive, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Previous estimating experience is not required, but a sincere interest in commercial construction and estimating as a career is essential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with the preparation and development of project estimates and proposals
  • Learn and contribute to all phases of the estimating process
  • Maintain and enter project information within estimating and database software systems
  • Initiate, maintain, track, and complete pre-construction workflows
  • Procure, organize, distribute, and manage construction documents
  • Communicate with subcontractors and vendors regarding bidding opportunities
  • Assist with project outreach to subcontractors and suppliers
  • Review drawings, specifications, addenda, and other construction documents
  • Prepare and track Requests for Information (RFIs)
  • Perform quantity takeoffs and quantity surveys
  • Analyze construction plans and specifications
  • Organize project scopes of work
  • Assist with subcontractor bid evaluation and comparison
  • Support the preparation of estimates and proposals for management review
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of estimating processes and procedures
