Job description

Summary
This position entails performing regular maintenance technicians' duties and supervisory roles of assigned jobs. Duties include performing work involving the skills of two or more trades to maintain building and common areas components and structures. Duties may involve carpentry, concrete, light electrical, light plumbing, painting, drywall, etc. You will directly supervise and coordinate the activities of maintenance technicians, ordering materials and outlining job responsibilities for technicians scheduled for the job site and other supervisory functions.
  • Responsible for performing visual observation on various building components and site amenities and immediately reporting all hazardous and life safety concerns to company management.
  • Read technical data and manufacture specifications and perform repairs and installations.
  • Respond to maintenance requests and perform repairs and installations per work orders or scope of work.
  • Assist with coworkers' needs as directed by Management.
  • Job site evaluation to identify the amount and type of materials needed to complete the job.
  • Purchase and deliver materials for the job
  • Performs all work using best installation and application practices.
  • Read all technical data and MSD information to maintain high-level safety on jobs and follow Safety Code of Conduct.
  • Procure and deliver materials for jobs.

Requirements
Skills and Abilities
  • General Maintenance Technician requires two to three years of working experience in at least 2 of the following trades: Framing, Concrete, Electrical, Plumbing, Mechanical, Painting, Welding, Drywall, Stucco, Masonry, and/or Roofing.
  • Trade, OSHA, and Equipment Certifications are a plus but not a requirement for the position.
  • Valid Driver's License without any driving restrictions, no DUI or DWI in the past five years.
  • Ability to use various construction, power, and hand tools. Possesses all necessary tools to complete various job assignments.
  • Knowledgeable and ability to perform research and problem-solving in most aspects of construction and maintenance.
  • Has working knowledge of construction materials, material applications, and tools.
  • Self-starter, and the ability to work unsupervised.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Responsible for the safety of the site, team, and self.
  • Proficient with technology including basic computer skills, software, smartphone, and tablet.
  • Transportation is required and must be reliable, presentable in working conditions, and able to transport and deliver materials and tools such as ladders, wheelbarrows, and other equipment to the worksites
  • Physical Abilities: The ability to lift 50 pounds, work at heights and able to work in extreme weather conditions, able to continually climb, balance, stoop, and kneel sometimes for prolonged periods of time is required.
