Job description

Warne Plumbing and Heating, LLC, located in Watertown, SD, is currently seeking an Apprentice Plumber to join our company. This is an on-site, in Watertown role. We are committed to providing excellent service in commercial, industrial, and residential plumbing and heating. Candidate should possess mechanical knowledge and skills, the ability to work in multiple environments, and be dependable and organized.

An Apprentice Plumber assembles, installs, or repairs pipes, fittings, or fixtures, of domestic water, sanitary sewer, storm sewer, heating, and other piping systems according to specifications and plumbing codes. Apprentice Plumber should be working to complete an approved apprenticeship program and become a skilled Journeyman Plumber.

Pay: $18-$24 per hour DOE

Responsibilities may include

  • Complete all work in accordance with federal, state, and local codes
  • Prepare, fabricate, and install plumbing and piping systems
  • Read and understand blueprints
  • Repair and install various pipe including iron, steel, copper, PVC, and cast iron
  • Determine the proper tools and equipment necessary for job completion
  • Operate power tools and equipment
  • Maintain tools and equipment in proper working order
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements and skills

  • Enrolled in a recognized apprenticeship program (Preferred)
  • Knowledge of plumbing codes, regulations, and safety procedures (Preferred)
  • Mechanical skills (Preferred)
  • Ability to learn and operate various power tools and heavy equipment (Required)
  • Able to legally work in the United States (Required)
  • Valid driver’s license (Required)
  • Ability to follow instructions (Required)
  • Ability to work independently and as a team (Required)
  • Physical ability to perform tasks such as lifting between 75 – 100 pounds, standing for extended periods, climbing, and working in confined spaces among other manual labor duties as assigned (Required)

This is a full-time position with additional hours as needed.
