Job Description:
A full-time OPS Lab Technician is available in the Gene Expression and Genotyping of the Interdisciplinary Center for Biotechnology Research (ICBR). Duties include DNA and RNA quantification using Nanodrop, Qubit, and qualification using Agilent Bioanalyzer/TapeStation, qPCR, digital PCR, DNA, RNA extraction, and GeneTitan Axiom Array process. The Assistant is also responsible for receiving packages, performing periodic cleanup of the freezers, maintaining a detailed list of available reagents, and other lab-related work as needed. We seek a reliable individual with the ability to learn new laboratory procedures rapidly, attention to detail, good communication skills, familiarity with computers, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
Expected Salary:
$18 per hour, commensurate with education and experience
Required Qualifications:
High school diploma, or its equivalent, and one year of relevant experience.
Preferred:
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
  • Science background and experience
  • Good computer and organization skills
