Position Summary
The Counselor will initiate and maintain contact with perspective students and related constituencies in Omaha and throughout Nebraska as appropriate. The Counselor is the face and image of the University. Act as a member of a team that is responsible for the development and implementation of marketing and communication strategies specific to recruitment of dual enrollment students in the state, which includes maintaining the program's website. They will analyze and develop recruiting strategies necessary to enroll students in the dual credit program and subsequent transition as a UNO full-time student. The recruiting strategies developed by the Counselor will require an understanding of the University's commitment to increasing the number of high ability students and under-represented populations on the UNO campus. The Counselor will initiate and maintain positive relationships with secondary schools, and other community agencies that are related to the dual credit program. The Counselor will serve as liaison with university faculty, advisors and other professional staff who are involved in the dual enrollment program.

Represent the University / Provide Advising Services\
Duties:
Represent the University of Nebraska at Omaha's Dual Enrollment Program at high schools, community events, and other activities as necessary to educate relevant constituencies. Communicate the necessary information, program opportunities, and scholarship and financial aid information to prospective students and their families. The counselor will carry out relevant strategies and independently determine a marketing approach for the program. Whether in person, on the phone, or virtually, the Counselor will advise prospective students and parents who inquire about the program and its relationship to regular undergraduate admission and enrollment in various academic programs. Must be completely aware of University Admission Requirements as well as have a strong overall understanding of the University. While observing FERPA privacy laws, the counselor will answer questions regarding admissions and direct customers to the appropriate person or office on campus. Customers may be students, parents, or other departments.
