Job description

You are applying for a position through Medix, a staffing agency. The actual posting represents a position at one of our clients.
CT / X-Ray Technologist
Location: New York, NY
Position Type: 13-Week Contract, Saturday & Sunday (7:00 AM - 7:00 PM) and Wednesday (7:00 PM - 7:00 AM)
Salary: $2,881 - $3,097 / week (Gross, depending on experience)
Start Date: 8/3
About the Role
Are you an elite diagnostic imaging professional looking for a highly competitive weekly rate, an alternative shift structure, and a low-volume, premium care environment without traditional ER burnout?
We are seeking a skilled CT/X-Ray Technologist to join our premier, high-end private medical clinic network in New York, NY. In this dual-modality role, you will provide critical, high-urgency diagnostic imaging using advanced GE and Siemens equipment within a VIP, patient-centered environment. If you are a tech-forward professional who values white-glove customer service, clinical excellence, and absolute discretion, we want to hear from you!
Key Responsibilities
  • High-Acuity Diagnostic Imaging: Receive and review physician requests, identify patients, and perform high-quality diagnostic examinations (CT, X-Ray, and/or MRI) utilizing established clinical standards.
  • Equipment Operation & Documentation: Competently operate computer and radiographic equipment for precise image production, ensuring all diagnostic images are legibly labeled with the correct date and patient identification.
  • Elite Patient Care: Closely monitor patient well-being during scans, recognize discomfort or emerging medical problems, and take immediate, appropriate clinical action.
  • Laboratory Support: Run laboratory tests on moderate-to-complex machines under a CLIA license, and assist with routine Quality Control (QC) and other regulatory laboratory requirements.
  • Clinical Collaboration & Systems: Utilize Athena EMR and integrated CRM systems to enter detailed, compliant patient data and seamlessly perform necessary clinical clerical duties.

Schedule & Work Environment
  • Setting: High-end, private medical clinic.
  • Hours: 12-hour shifts. Saturday and Sunday day shifts (7:00 AM - 7:00 PM), plus Wednesday night shift (7:00 PM - 7:00 AM).
  • Work-Life Balance: Unique 3-day block schedule offering consolidated hours and four days off per week.
  • Patient Volume: Extremely low volume compared to a traditional ER setting (averaging around 20 patients per a 24-hour timeframe, meaning you may go a full shift without a scan). However, when patients do arrive, acuity levels and urgency are very high.

Qualifications & Skills Required
  • Education: Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology Program.
  • Certifications: Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists in Radiography (ARRT(R)) and Computed Tomography (ARRT(CT))-or able to obtain CT certification within 12 months of hire.
  • Experience: Minimum of 1 year of hands-on experience in both modalities (X-Ray and CT), with a strong preference for dual-modality comfort straight out of the gate.
  • Technical Proficiency: Strong, verifiable knowledge of Siemens and GE technology. No MRI license is required, but you must be willing to be cross-trained to assist in the CLIA laboratory.
  • Soft Skills: Exceptional professionalism with polished communication skills to interface with high-profile clientele; strict commitment to medical ethics and HIPAA; and a flexible, calm demeanor under high-pressure scenarios.

What We Offer
  • Highly competitive weekly gross pay ($2,881 - $3,097/week depending on experience).
  • A luxury, tech-forward working environment away from the chaotic pace of traditional hospitals.
  • Comprehensive cross-training in a CLIA-licensed laboratory to expand your clinical skill set.
