Job Description Summary
Engineering leader supporting the manufacturing processes at the Services Technology Acceleration Center (STAC). Responsible for driving engineering execution across the site's projects and programs.
The role will be responsible for developing and growing a team of special processes owners, with consideration for product safety and quality, technical execution and operational considerations with significant input into the sites technical project.
Job Description
Role Overview:
  • Define and control production process including tooling and equipment. Validate design specifications and shop floor application of new product, tools, or equipment.
  • Developing a team of special process owners with specialized knowledge in their disciplines. Serves as best practice/quality resource. Has awareness of latest technical developments in own area. Contributes towards strategy and policy development, and ensure delivery within area of responsibility.
  • Uses judgment to make decisions, solve complex tasks and problems in areas of operational/product management, manufacturing, technology and engineering. Takes new perspective on existing solutions. Uses technical experience and expertise for data analysis to support recommendations. Uses multiple internal and limited external sources outside of own function to arrive at decisions.
  • Can effectively prioritize tasks considering operational and technical implications, work effectively with cross-functional team members, and escalate appropriately to maintain project momentum.
  • Acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience and able to lead coordinate and delegate projects. Able to effectively communicate, explain complex information, and build consensus across all teams both on the shop and engineering.

Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial, Aerospace Engineering, or related technical field (or equivalent experience)
  • Significant experience in manufacturing engineering, process engineering, or production engineering in an aerospace or similarly regulated, high-precision environment
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes (e.g., machining, special processes, assembly, inspection). Ability to interpret engineering drawings and specifications. Experience with process development, capability studies, and problem solving
  • Demonstrated experience leading teams or technical projects, influencing cross-functional stakeholders, and driving results in a manufacturing environment

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Strong oral and written communication skills. Strong interpersonal and leadership skills. Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems. Demonstrated ability to lead programs/projects. Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs. Established project management skills
  • Master's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, or Business
  • Aerospace engine or component manufacturing experience; familiarity with regulated and certified hardware
  • Experience with lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement methodologies; Green Belt or Black Belt preferred
