We are seeking a collaborative, self-motivated, and detail-oriented DevOps & Application Support Engineer to join our AI Platform engineering team. In this role, the ideal candidate will be the primary owner of the DevOps, maintenance, and support for our in-house developer and user tools, specifically Open Web UI (serving ~2,500 production users).
This is an incredible opportunity for a technical resource looking to build a strong foundation in modern cloud infrastructure, automation, and AI tooling. While the primary focus of the role will be environment management, triaging issues, and keeping our platforms running smoothly, the DevOps & Application Support Engineer will also have an opportunity to actively contribute to core AI Platform development as workload bandwidth allows.PositionAI Engineer: DevOps & Application SupportLocationUSA, Louisville, KYHow You'll Create Possibilities

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Open Web UI Lifecycle & Environment Management: Maintain our in-house fork for Open Web UI. Pull and test the latest community updates and manage deployments across our Dev and Prod environments (supporting ~2,500 active users in Prod).
  • Support, Triage & Operations: Own the end-to-end technical support lifecycle for Open Web UI. This includes infrastructure troubleshooting, monitoring, triaging user-reported bugs, and coordinating issue resolution.
  • AI Platform Development: contribute directly to the development of our broader AI Platform, writing code and collaborating with senior engineers.
  • Continuous Integration & Delivery (CI/CD): Maintain and optimize pipelines to automate the build, testing, and deployment of updates to our managed applications.
  • Collaboration & Agile Practices: Work closely with the AI Platform engineering team. Actively participate in Agile ceremonies, including daily stand-ups, sprint planning, and retrospectives.
What You'll Bring to Our Team

MinimumQualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent hands-on experience)
  • 3years of experience in software engineering, systems administration, DevOps, or technical support
  • Version Control Proficiency: Practical experience using Git/GitHub, including managing branches, merging, and handling forks of open-source projects
  • Containerization Basics: Basic understanding of Docker and deploying containerized applications
  • Multi-Environment Management: Familiarity with deploying applications across separate lifecycles (Dev, QA, Prod)
  • Strong Troubleshooting Skills: Excellent analytical skills with a passion for triaging infrastructure issues and resolving user support requests
  • Communication & Collaboration: Strong interpersonal skills to interface directly with internal users and collaborate effectively within an Agile team

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Basic scripting or programming skills (e.g., Python, Bash, JavaScript/Node.js)
  • Exposure to cloud platforms such as AWS or Google Cloud
  • Understanding of basic networking, security concepts, and database management (SQL/NoSQL)
  • Experience with monitoring and logging tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, Splunk) to track application health
