Job description

The University of New Mexico's Project ECHO has an amazing opportunity for a Program Coordinator to join our team! This individual will play a critical role in supporting both the New Mexico Community Peer Education Project (NMCPEP) and an expanding set of Behavioral Health programs.

NMCPEP is a collaboration between Project ECHO and the New Mexico Corrections Department. With a solutions-based focus, NMCPEP works closely with a marginalized population of returning citizens to train them to become Community Peer Educators.

The expanding Behavioral Health initiatives are in response to legislative priorities aimed at improving continuity of care, increasing access to resources, and strengthening employment opportunities for peer support workers. The goals of these projects are to increase an individual's self-efficacy, reduce recidivism, and strengthen collaboration among stakeholders to improve services and outcomes for communities across New Mexico.

As a successful Program Coordinator, you will play an active role in:

  •  Managing the day-to-day operations for three to five ECHO programs supporting NMCPEP and Behavioral Health initiatives, including scheduling, logistics, and communications.
  •  Editing, maintaining, and distributing program flyers, announcements, and email communications. Responding to program specific requests, including oversight of the NMCPEP and Behavioral Health email, and coordinating responses with appropriate staff or departments. Monitoring attendance and participation data and entering required information into program databases, including but not limited to iECHO, Smartsheet, and BOX.
  • Developing, maintaining, and updating standard operating procedures (SOPs) to support consistent and efficient program operations.
  • Reporting potential PHI breaches during ECHO sessions and/or PHI found in case-presentations by redaction and, if needed, coordinates with IT and/or the Program Specialist to support resolution.
  • Scheduling, coordinating, assisting with planning, and organizing meetings involving program leadership and internal or external partners.
  • Providing coordination and documentation support for the launch, implementation, and ongoing functioning of NMCPEP and Behavioral Health ECHO programs.
  • Assisting with the organization and documentation of hub team and ECHO team meetings, including the preparation of agendas, notes, case presentations, and follow-up items. Providing logistical and administrative support for the development, revision, and dissemination of facilitator guides and program materials.
  • Maintaining program records, preparing reports, and providing timely responses to requests from both internal and external individuals/programs. Assisting the Data Analyst with maintaining organized program records and preparing summaries or responses to requests using data from multiple sources.
  • Coordinating the preparation and submission of continuing education units, reports, facilitator guides, and case presentation forms. Managing the distribution, collection, and tracking of accreditation-related materials to ensure timely submission and compliance.
  • Assisting with the preparation of materials and coordination for trainings, workshops, and outreach events.
  • Coordinating the tracking and maintaining current records of project inventory, supply orders, travel requests, and distribution of technology (i.e. laptops) to contractors in support of program operations using Smartsheet to support accurate tracking and reporting and communicating status updates to the Program Specialist(s) as requested.
  • Serving as a central point of contact for contractors, internal staff, and external partners regarding routine program operations.

Examples of programs we and others run include infectious disease control (Hepatitis C, HIV), mental health and addiction treatment, literacy, math, climate mitigation and many more.
