Job Description SummaryIntergalactic, now a part of Unison, a GE Aerospace Company, is a team of engineers, technologists, designers, mathematicians, and problem solvers committed to a singular idea: reviving the no-boundaries mentality in aerospace. We are seeking a highly skilled Materials Demand Planner to coordinate and expedite the flow of materials (from suppliers and internal departments) according to production schedules. This role will oversee departmental operations and be responsible for planning/execution of all materials. The role has some autonomy but is focused on execution of activities within an operating discipline covered by standard functional practices and procedures.Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Manage master planning, material processes and systems, prepare and update production schedules and purchasing needs.
  • Ensure operational alignment with production plan and KPIs.
  • Optimize inventory and process improvements.
  • Developing in-depth knowledge of a technical discipline. Uses prior experience and acquired technical expertise to execute policy/strategy.
  • In-depth understanding of key business drivers; uses this understanding to accomplish tasks.
  • Manages and reports out shop metrics (i.e. aged WIP, etc.)
  • Reviews performance to cycle time and coordinates with functional business units as needed.
  • Coordinate with team on appropriate lot sizes to optimize production.
  • Is responsible for identifying min/max, backflush, and other material systems on the production floor.
  • Coordinate efforts for inventory accuracy (i.e. cycle counts, floor items, etc.)
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Maintains new work order requests
  • Updates existing demand on work orders
  • Manages the overall functions in the ERP related to work orders and materials tracking.
  • Conducts demand forecasting and Sales and Operations Planning (SnOP) to optimize inventory and supply strategies.
  • Manages data collection, develops predictive models, and ensures forecast accuracy across channels and SKUs.
  • Performs SnOP analysis to maintain high fill rates and efficient inventory turnover.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college (in lieu of a degree a high school diploma / GED with 0-4 years of experience in general Supply Chain).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft suit with advanced Excel skill set.
  • Advance experience with ERP / MRP system.

Desired Qualifications

  • Proven experience working as a materials or demand planner or in a similar role, preferably in the commercial or aerospace industries.
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills with proficiency in data analysis tools such as Excel, SQL, or other statistical software.
  • Solid understanding of supply chain principles, processes, and best practices.
  • Experience with supply chain management systems and tools, such as enterprise resource planning (ERP) software or inventory management systems.
  • Excellent problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities with a detail-oriented approach.
  • Strong technical background with the ability to interpret technical data.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional environment and build positive working relationships.
  • Knowledge of forecasting techniques, demand planning, and inventory optimization methodologies.
