Solid Rock Recruiting is hiring on behalf of a well-established commercial drywall contractor seeking an In-House Drywall Estimator. This is a long-term opportunity for someone who wants more than just a desk role—someone who enjoys estimating, communicating with GCs, and being connected to the field.
This position is ideal for an estimator who wants to grow with a company, build relationships, and eventually step into greater responsibility.
This is not a heads-down-only estimating position.
The right person will handle commercial drywall takeoffs while also:
Following up on bids
Talking with general contractors
Visiting jobsites
Working closely with ownership and operations
You’ll be trusted to wear multiple hats and contribute to the company’s long-term growth.
Prepare commercial drywall estimates (80–90% commercial)
Perform takeoffs using On-Screen Takeoff & QuickBid (preferred)
Estimate projects typically ranging from $250K–$650K
Occasionally support larger projects (up to ~$2M)
Follow up with GCs to sell and clarify bids
Visit jobsites to improve estimating accuracy and productivity
Build relationships with field teams and contractors
Collaborate directly with ownership and operations
No formal project management responsibilities
Commercial interior fit-outs
Metal framing and drywall
Office and commercial buildings
Early-to-mid career mindset preferred (growth-oriented)
Some construction or field exposure is a plus
Estimating experience preferred, but not required to be “perfect”
Coachable, team-oriented, and motivated
Comfortable communicating with GCs and visiting jobsites

Drywall & metal framing experience is a strong plus
