Senior Commercial Electrical Estimator – Drive High-Value Growth for a Southeast Industry Leader Job Overview

  • Job/Employment Type: Full Time.

  • Schedule: Monday - Friday.

  • Project Scope: Mid-six to seven-figure commercial electrical contracts.

The Opportunity

You will serve as the architect of our bidding process, owning the full estimating function from initial qualification to the final proposal defense. This is a high-impact role where you will directly influence our win rate and project pipeline while working closely with a leadership team that values autonomy. You have the unique opportunity to build and scale our estimating standards as we continue our deliberate growth across the Southeast.

How You Will Make an Impact
  • Qualify all bid opportunities through direct engagement with General Contractors to ensure a strategic fit.

  • Produce precise, comprehensive electrical takeoffs and labor estimates for large-scale commercial projects.

  • Defend your technical estimates and project numbers during scope review calls with confidence and precision.

  • Maintain a rigorous proposal log to track bid statuses, win/loss intelligence, and competitive market patterns.

  • Execute professional bid packages that strictly adhere to ITB deadlines and General Contractor requirements.

  • Develop and strengthen working relationships with GC estimators to increase SECO's award likelihood.

  • Refine company unit cost libraries and digital estimating standards to improve overall process efficiency.

Required Qualifications & Experience
  • Extensive experience pricing commercial electrical projects specifically in the mid-six to seven-figure range.

  • Proven track record of managing a high-volume bid calendar and meeting strict submission deadlines.

  • Demonstrated ability to independently read and interpret complex commercial plans, specifications, and addenda.

  • Strong ownership mentality with a history of working in self-directed, autonomous environments.

  • Proficiency in digital estimating tools and basic Excel for material and labor calculations.

Preferred Qualifications & Experience
  • Previous experience in a small to mid-sized firm where you were responsible for building estimating workflows.

  • Advanced technology fluency and the ability to evaluate and implement new estimating software solutions.

  • Strong background in general construction with a specialized focus on electrical systems.
