The Gate to Gate driver is responsible for operating an assigned Luxury Vehicle on a designated transportation route. Employee is further responsible for the safe transportation, loading and unloading of passengers. 

Pay Rate: $22.88/hr.
Location: Dulles International Airport
Shift: Full Time hours

Basic Qualifications:
  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • No high school diploma, GED or college degree required
  • Must pass MVR

All drivers must have a valid ABM Drivers Permit in order to drive any ABM or Client Vehicle. The Driver Permit must have the specific vehicle /equipment type checked and approved on the reverse side of the Drivers Permit for an employee to be qualified on that particular vehicle/equipment. Must meet all requirements to receive required airport SIDA badge, and Customs Seal (if applicable), including successful completion of a background check and ten-year work history.

Specific Job Knowledge, Skill, and Ability:

Language Skills

  • Ability to communicate effectively in the English language. 
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and procedure manuals, employee handbooks and passenger boarding documents.
  • Ability to effectively present information, and respond to questions from passengers, managers, clients, customers and the general public.
  • Must also possess and utilize effective listening skills.

Reasoning Ability:

  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Specific Duties/Essential Job Functions: (by Line of Service)

  • Provide daily transportation services to passengers at designated pick-up and drop-off locations.
  • Perform pre-inspection and post-inspection activities to ensure proper operation conditions, adherence to prescribed Department of Transportation standards, and compliance with proper safety standards.
  • Maintain and enforce vehicle evacuation plan and coordinate evacuation activities as appropriate.
  • Maintain safe driver designation and applicable physical and dexterity standards.
  • Ensure the safe loading and unloading of passengers, including the safe operation and handling of specialized for unloading passengers with special needs (i.e wheel chair lifts and tie-downs).
  • Performs routine cleaning and vehicle maintenance activities.
  • Ability to conduct re-fueling activities, to include maintaining assigned fuel use logs.
  • Establish and maintain effective communication and working relationships with passengers, co-workers, shift coordinators, supervisors, managers, etc
  • Comply with all safety, security, compliance and quality standards and procedures established by the Company, Clients, and regulatory authorities.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
