Job description

Position Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Plumbing Operations Manager to lead the daily operations of a growing commercial plumbing department. This role is responsible for overseeing field operations, managing schedules and resources, supporting project execution, and ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards. Working closely with the Plumbing Department General Manager, you will play a key role in driving operational excellence and supporting continued department growth.
 
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee daily plumbing operations, including scheduling service work, projects, and field personnel.
Ensure projects are properly staffed and completed on time and within budget.
Monitor workforce productivity and optimize scheduling and resource allocation.
Implement process improvements to enhance operational efficiency.
 
Resource Planning:
Coordinate materials, tools, and equipment for job sites.
Collaborate with purchasing, warehouse, and vendor teams to ensure timely material availability.
Support project planning to minimize delays and maximize productivity.
 
Team Leadership:
Provide leadership and support to field plumbers, supervisors, and project teams.
Assist with onboarding, training, and workforce development.
Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, and professional excellence.
 
Customer & Project Support:
Maintain strong client relationships through effective communication and proactive issue resolution.
Coordinate operational updates to ensure exceptional customer service.
 
Safety & Compliance:
Promote compliance with OSHA regulations, company safety policies, and applicable plumbing codes.
Support safety initiatives and reinforce best practices across the department.
 
Required Qualifications:
10+ years of commercial plumbing experience.
Leadership experience as a Field Supervisor, Project Manager, Operations Lead, or similar role.
Strong knowledge of commercial plumbing systems, codes, and industry regulations.
Experience coordinating schedules, manpower, and job resources in a fast-paced environment.
Experience with job costing and estimating.
Excellent leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
Valid driver's license.
Master Plumber and Master Gas Fitter licenses in Maryland, Washington, DC, Virginia, and WSSC jurisdictions are required.
 
Preferred:
Journeyman or Master Plumber License.
Supervisory or management experience within a plumbing operations environment.
Experience with dispatching, service management, or construction management software.
