Marina Dock Hand - Lake Blackshear Resort
Lake Blackshear Resort / Georgia Veterans State Park, located in Cordele, Georgia, is looking for Dock Hands! This is a seasonal position and will start March 1, 2025. We offer a culture that focuses on teamwork and high levels of customer service with an environment that empowers our team members to exceed guests' expectations. Our ideal candidate will be engaged, hands-on, and prepared to operate a "best in class" resort!
Lake Blackshear Resort has lake cabins and 82 camp sites located on beautiful 8800-acre cypress lake with restaurant, bar, fitness center, conference center, marina with a lake restaurant, 18 hole-golf course designed by Denis Griffiths, fishing and more. We are managed by the Southeast's premiere hospitality management company, Coral Hospitality. This is a seasonal position.
Marina Dock Hand Duties: Under the direct supervision of the Marina Manager, the Dock Hand is responsible for:
Assisting customers with boat rentals and explaining the proper operation and safety of the boats.
Inspection of rental boats before and after each rental. Notes and reports any damage to the craft by a renter so appropriate deposits can be used to cover damage.
Clean all boats after rental.
Assist customers at the dock. Marina Dock Hands may assist customers with the gas pump but they do not pump gas for customers.
Remove trash, clean docks and clean restrooms.
If you enjoy the out-of-doors and have at least one (1) year of verifiable employment, please apply. Prior experience with boats and knowledge of Lake Blackshear are desirable but not required. The ability to swim is a safety requirement.
A successful job applicant must be able to work weekends.
