Marina Dock Attendant / Dock Hand - Ocean Havens Marinas

Boston Harbor Shipyard and Marina is looking to fill available roles for our dock attendant/ dock hand position this summer! Boston Harbor Shipyard and Marina is home to many eclectic tenants, both onshore and in the water, and ideal candidates will contribute to the friendly atmosphere. During the boating season, the dock hand is the first and last person the guests interact with, they are essential to the environment we aim to create.

The right person for this job is cheerful, determined, knowledgeable, and courteous towards the customers at all times. Our dock hands assist our customers from the time theyย dock at the marina to the time they leave.ย Providing outstanding customer service, while maintaining the companyโ€™s professionalism on and off-site. While a dock handโ€™s primary focus is ensuring the customer has an amazing experience with us at BHSM, safety is of the utmost importance.

Responsibilities:

The dockhand position requires a willingness and the ability to assist in many tasks throughout the marina, these include and are not limited to:

  • Treating all customers with first-class service.
  • Performing daily opening and closing duties, daily dock walks, and grounds maintenance.
  • Ability to learn and memorize marina rates and general policies.
  • Contributing towards a safe, healthy, clean, friendly, and fun environment.
  • Cleaning and restocking restrooms.
  • Cleaning docks, walkways, equipment, and all other areas of the facility.
  • Assisting with special events hosted at the marina that take place outside of normal operating hours.
  • Maintaining the safety of yourself and guests.
  • Assisting guests with any boating needs.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned.

Position Requirements:

  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to use VHF radio.
  • Ability to swim.
  • Ability to operate small handheld and power tools.
  • Customer service experience is a plus, as well as knowledge of Boston Harbor and surrounding areas.

Weekends and holiday availability required. Flexible schedule, ability to work part or full-time.
