The Dock Lead provides leadership to help ensure dock and facility operations run according to policies and procedures. They coordinate daily dock activities by delegating job assignments, monitoring workflow, and providing guidance to team members. A Dock Lead provides on-shift supervision at an assigned location when the Supervisor is not present. They help ensure dock operations, material handling, and housekeeping duties are completed safely and efficiently. They are responsible for maintaining clean, organized, and safe dock areas for all team members, drivers, contractors, and customers.
Pay: $20.00-$20.50 hour

Responsibilities
Essential Functions
- Always communicate regularly and professionally with client, teammates, staff, drivers, and other contractors.
- Lead operations in assigned dock and staging areas as directed by the Supervisor. Assigned areas may change daily depending on client needs and operational priorities. - Assist with staff training and support the safe movement, loading, unloading, and staging of materials, shipments, and equipment.
- Monitor dock activity to help maintain workflow, organization, and timely completion of assigned tasks.
Comply with all security, compliance, and safety standards and procedures established by ABM and our Client.
- Report to the ABM site Supervisor on all assigned tasks, concerns, and operational updates.
Responsibilities
- Provides leadership, direction, and positive coaching to team members.
- Establishes and maintains effective communication and working relationships with clients, co-workers, building leads, supervisors, managers, drivers, and vendors.
- Assures the highest quality of customer satisfaction.
- Provides guidance in safety procedures, dock processes, material handling, and workflow expectations to assigned areas and crew members.
- Assists with the training of site staff and possible scheduling of work assignments.
- Ensures proper use of break times and punches.
- Leads and participates in a team to ensure the successful completion of assigned tasks according to ABM standards and protocols and reports completion to the Supervisor.
- Responsible for the operation and leadership of the shift in the absence of the Supervisor.
- Assists the Supervisor and site Managers in the direction and supervision of field team members.
- Helps oversee daily dock flow, including staging, loading, unloading, sorting, and movement of materials to assigned areas.
- Verifies dock areas remain clean, organized, and free of safety hazards or obstructions.
- Monitors trailers, pallets, carts, and other materials to help ensure proper placement and safe handling.
- Reports damaged, broken, or out-of-service equipment and unsafe conditions immediately.
- Comes prepared to work with all assigned PPE and weather-permitting attire.
- Supports coordination of inbound and outbound deliveries, shipment readiness, and dock activity as directed by site leadership.
- Helps ensure materials are labeled, staged, and moved to the proper locations in a timely and organized manner.
- Assists in maintaining dock security, including awareness of access points, keys, locks, and restricted areas as applicable.
- Attends and participates in all meetings and training sessions involving assigned area and crew.
- Assists Supervisor in completing time sheets (WFMs), validating time sheets, training sheets, and other forms of paperwork for assigned team members accurately.
- Checks supplies, equipment, security of keys/locks, and work area weekly.
- While disciplinary authority is not given to this position, it is expected that the Dock Lead will report performance issues and improvements to the Manager and Supervisor.
- Complies with all safety, security, compliance, and quality standards and procedures established by the Company, Clients, and regulatory authorities.

- Performs all tasks and duties required of the team.
- Performs miscellaneous duties as assigned.

- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- Must meet all requirements to receive required site badges, including successful completion of a background check.
- Previous experience in dock operations, shipping/receiving, warehouse support, logistics, or lead experience preferred.
- Ability to safely lift, move, push, and pull materials in a physically active work environment.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining safety and organization.
- Knowledge of pallet jacks and other basic material handling equipment preferred.
