Job description

Shipping/Receiving Clerk - Minneapolis Warehouse
Union Position
Previous Shipping/Receiving or Warehouse Experience Highly Preferred
Job Duties:
  • Ensure the proper receipt of incoming freight shipments in accordance with all established departmental and company policies and procedures.
  • Check in all assigned shipments and ensure the accuracy of all related paperwork and price tags.
  • Properly handle all freight damage issues and follow all necessary steps to enable a satisfactory clam resolution.
  • Respond to store and buyer inquiries and requests in a timely and appropriate manner.
  • When assigned, verify the accuracy of store divides, store and departmental orders done by other employees.
  • Ensure proper handling of all store and departmental returns.
  • Operate motorized equipment in accordance with established procedural and safety guidelines.
  • Ensure the proper and timely handling of all customer and buyer requests that are associated with assigned incoming shipments, including the processing of all assigned priority shipments
  • Perform duties in other classifications as needed.
  • Perform the operational duties of the Crew Leader-Shipping or Crew Leader-Garden Warehouse when assigned.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 18 years of age.
  • Warehouse Person experience within Bachman's or one or more years related warehouse experience elsewhere.
  • Able to stand and/or walk for extended periods.
  • Capable of working in elevated areas up to 16' off the ground.
  • Capable of operating all warehouse motorized equipment.
  • Capable of working in an environment with chemical fumes, heat, dust & paint fumes.
  • Must be willing and able to obtain a Bachman's Forklift Operation Certificate.
  • Able to lift/move 60 pounds on a regular basis and up to 80 pounds on an occasional basis.
  • Must have good math, computer and problem solving skills.
  • Proven ability to give work direction to union and non-union employees.
  • Capable of training warehouse persons, warehouse helpers, seasonal and temp agency employees to perform a variety of warehouse tasks including but not limited to pricing merchandise and doing store divides.
  • Willing to work in other departments and at other Bachman locations in the Twin Cities
  • Capable of understanding, speaking, and legibly writing the English language.
  • Capable of performing the duties of a Crew Leader on a temporary basis.
  • Oracle NetSuite, RF Smart (or similar WMS) experience preferred
Compensation:$23.44/hour
Schedule: M-F, First Shift, OT & Weekends during peak times
