Job Description
Reporting to the Superintendent of Maintenance, the foreman assists in supervising maintenance personnel and overseeing vehicle repair and maintenance activities. Job duties include:
  1. Supervise vehicle repair and maintenance activities.
  2. Assign work to employees using Oracle.
  3. Review work orders for time and material usage.
  4. Monitor employee attendance.
  5. Respond to road calls.
  6. Provide instructions and on-the-job training to mechanics.
  7. Generate and review reports.
  8. Perform administrative duties.
  9. Update and maintain vehicle repair logs.
  10. Oversee vehicle servicing, interior cleaning, and facility repairs.
  11. Inspect the facility for safety and security compliance.
  12. Performing other duties as required.

Qualifications:
Age:
Must be 21 and over.
Education:
High school diploma or equivalency
Experience:
Must have at least four years prior experience with diesel/gas maintenance and repair and/or technical training to include diesel engines, bus electrical, suspension and hydraulic systems, DOT regulations, and preventative maintenance, and must have a good work record; supervisory experience is preferred.
Certifications/Licenses:
Must have or able to obtain a Class A Illinois Commercial Driver's License with airbrake and passenger endorsements within 90 days of being hired.
Must have DOT certification.
A/C certification is preferred.
Proficiencies:
Must pass the Foreman exam
Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills, and demonstrate the ability to read and follow blueprint, schematics, and maintenance manuals.
Must be proficient using Microsoft Office applications including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
Working Conditions:
Work is performed in an office setting, in a garage, and outdoors. May be exposed to loud or distracting sounds and noise levels throughout their workday. May be exposed to smells from gasoline, oil, other solvents, and other contaminants. This position is not eligible for telecommuting or a hybrid work schedule.
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to stand and sit for extended periods, operate assigned equipment, and lift and carry objects up to 100 pounds
This is a safety sensitive position.
Salary:
Full salary range: $56,523-$118,757
Midpoint: $87,640
Starting salary range: $72,082-87,640
Pace provides full pay ranges so candidates can consider their growth potential. The final salary will depend on the candidate's qualifications.
