Overview
Are you ready to help shape the future of travel and hospitality at the new Hotel Polaris at the U.S. Air Force Academy? Hotel Polaris is seeking an exceptional Evening Maintenance Supervisor to join our team and play a vital role in shaping the success of Hotel Polaris, an instant icon on the hospitality landscape of Colorado Springs. Your efforts significantly influence the unique and distinctive experiences we seek to deliver to our guests and team members alike. Responsibilities
  • Maintain the hotel facility and related equipment in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Manage adequate inventory of parts, supplies, tools, and material for the department.
  • Must be able to respond to emergency situations, such as fire alarms, and other life-safety situations.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of all federal, state, local laws, codes, and regulations.
  • Conducts walk-through and visually assesses the safe and efficient maintenance and operation of the physical structures of the property, all mechanical, electrical, HVAC systems, and any other related equipment.
  • Perform general maintenance to guestrooms and public areas.
  • Receive daily work assignments and review priorities and special projects.
  • Maintain timelines and work schedule in accordance with the preventive maintenance program.
  • Perform electrical, HVAC, plumbing, painting, and carpentry work orders, as needed.
  • Assist other engineering/maintenance personnel as instructed by Director of Engineering in regard to routine and preventive maintenance.

Qualifications
  • Minimum three (3) years of experience in the facilities management of related properties or other comparable business.
  • At least two years of supervisory experience preferred.
  • Must have extensive working knowledge of building systems to include but not limited to; HVAC, electrical, plumbing, refrigeration, roofs, building finishes, mechanical operations, energy management, and Preventative Maintenance Programs.
  • Experience in a comparable AAA Four Diamond/Four Star hotel or higher is highly desired.
  • Ability to work the overnight shift, including on weekends & holidays.
  • Must have a valid Driver's License.

Physical Requirements
  • Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the shift.
  • Must be able to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds regularly and more with assistance.
  • Must be able to climb ladders, work at heights.
  • Must be able to bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, and perform repetitive movements.
  • Must be able to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather and temperature conditions.
  • Must possess visual and auditory ability to identify equipment issues and respond to emergencies.
