As an Engineering Director at teamLFG, you will hire, build and direct a technology organization to deliver amazing never-seen-before game experiences. Your organization will build and utilize a wide range of technologies and workflows to develop, continuously deliver, and maintain a live production game service. As part of the project and studio leadership team, you will create and evolve a technology strategy that is aligned with project goals and initiatives and serves the needs of the game, its players, and employees. ย RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Collaborate with a cross-disciplinary project leadership team to develop and maintain a product technology strategy that is informed by product vision, technical costs, and long-term technology goals

  • Leveraging the Unreal Engine and technology the team has built, direct the engineering organization to tackle challenging problems, find combinations of innovative technology with proven models, and build reliable solutions that deliver game experiences while sensibly managing technology risks

  • Recruit, nurture, and retain an engineering organization (30+ engineers, both internal FTE and external codev) with the skills, capacity, and adaptability to navigate uncertainty and deliver on the changing needs of the project

  • Manage multiple senior engineering leads, providing management support, technical guidance, constructive feedback, and career development coaching

  • Work with production leadership to schedule, track, deliver, and close out game features and releases, anticipating and mitigating any critical risks encountered, technical or otherwise

  • Communicate with PlayStation executives, directors, and technology teams, as needed

ย REQUIRED SKILLS

  • Experience managing an organization of 20+ engineers on AAA game engineering teams

  • Experience working with and directing co-development engineering teams

  • Experience with developing and running online games in a live service environment

  • Ability to align with leadership and executive stakeholders, translate goals into strategic technology solutions with a thorough understanding of cost, efficiency, and quality tradeoffs, and then lead an organization to execute on a technology strategy

  • Effectively communicate with and inspire fellow engineers by driving team alignment and buy-in on technology vision and architectural principles

  • Ability to work with a team in a hybrid environment, leveraging real time chat communications and documentation across an entire game studio

  • Ability to communicate with stakeholders of different business, technical, and non-technical backgrounds, to help align objectives and negotiate common goalsย
