Job description

Job Title: UX Researcher
Location: Remote
Duration: 12+ Months with potential to extend
Pay Range: $60-$70/Hr on W2 (DOE)
About the Role
We''re seeking an experienced UX Researcher to own and execute research for third-party VR/MR games on leading immersive hardware platforms. You''ll act as the research lead for assigned titles—partnering with external game studios, production, publishing, and the internal UXR team to turn player insight into shipping decisions across the development lifecycle.
Key Projects & Day-to-Day Responsibilities
End-to-End Ownership: Own assigned titles from start to finish—scope questions, write research plans and discussion guides, recruit, moderate, analyze, and deliver reports and readouts, often on a fast turnaround.
Study Execution: Run both 1:1 usability studies and large-N benchmark/measurement studies, both in-lab (in the Seattle or Bellevue areas) and remotely.
Stakeholder Partnership: Partner with production and publishing teams as primary stakeholders—align studies to greenlight/milestone decisions and present insights that shape sourcing, design, and content strategy.
Team Collaboration: Coordinate and collaborate with a shared team research schedule. Seamlessly hand off and take on titles as milestones and priorities shift.
Peer Review: Participate in the peer review of teammates'' research plans and reports.
Logistics Management: Manage research vendors, participants, and overall study logistics, including device/hardware setup and session materials.
Must-Have Skills
1 Research design & study planning - Scope the research questions and design the study -- research plans, discussion guides, recruit specs, and the right method for the milestone (usab
2 In-lab and remote moderation & fielding - Moderate sessions in real time either online or in person with a variety of audience types.
3 Analysis & reporting - Synthesize qual (and quant) data into clear, decision-ready reports and readouts on a fast turnaround, with storytelling that surfaces the friction points that matter to devs and stakeholders.
Nice-to-have Skills
1 VR or PC/Console gaming domain expertise.
2 Quant / benchmark & measurement methods -- large-N benchmarks + survey design/analysis
3 Rapid, AI-assisted reporting workflows -- leveraging AI tools to speed research planning, analysis, and reporting
