Job description

Essential Job Functions:

  • Ability to plan and complete assigned work with minimum supervision.
  • Ability to perform electrical and mechanical work including troubleshooting, installation and repair.
  • Ability to maintain and service HVAC equipment.
  • All other areas (carpentry, painting, stocking, and general labor) as necessary and as assigned.
  • Maintain sufficient inventory to adequately complete job assignment.
  • Makes routine rounds of engine room, facility and casino spaces and notifies management of any unusual operating conditions.
  • Participates in emergency response drills.
  • General cleaning of the engineering spaces.
  • Extensive knowledge of ship and facility layout, systems, general equipment operating procedures and ability to line up various systems for operation.
  • Report any malfunctioning equipment and/or repairs to management.
  • Must be able to work in confined spaces.
  • Must adhere to all safety procedures while performing duties.
  • Must have ability to meet tasks and responsibilities as assigned by the Marine and/or Security Departments during times of emergency or otherwise, as required.
  • Provide service to internal and external customers which reflects the company culture of Satisfaction, Togetherness, Appreciation and Recognition. (S.T.A.R.)
  • Responsible for immediately informing on-site IGC Agent on duty, Security and Supervisor on Duty of any Internal Control or State Regulation violations related to gaming activity of which you commit, witness or become aware; must report pursuant to company Self-Reporting Policy.

Other Job Functions: 

  • Performs miscellaneous duties as assigned.
  • Note: this position will not perform or assist with any gaming function.

Job Qualifications:

  • Experience Required: Extensive mechanical background (hands on experience working on engines, compressors, etc.), electrical experience, HVAC/Refrigeration experience preferred.  Desire past mechanical and electrical experience in a military, merchant marine or plant operations setting.
  • Education Required: High school diploma or equivalent; trade school or related experience preferred.
  • Skills, Knowledge and/or Abilities Required: Must meet ABS, IGC and Company Marine physical requirements. Ability to follow orders.  Ability to work well and communicate effectively with others.  Ability to understand/comply with departmental, company and government agency regulations.
  • Licenses, Certifications, Bonding, and/or Testing Required: Indiana Gaming Commission Occupational License – Level 3 (Must be at least 18 years of age).
  • Other Specialized Requirements: Experience in hospitality business or casino operations preferred.  Welding and Burning experience, Plant or Vessel Maintained experience preferred.  Possess one of the following preferred qualifications: USCG QMED Certification, Certified Welder, Universal Refrigerant License, Electrician Certification or Diesel Engine Maintenance Certification.
