We're looking for a Product Designer to help create innovative, immersive ad formats that blend naturally into gaming environments. This role sits at the intersection of creative design, interaction design, and product design.

You'll work closely with product managers, engineers, game studios, researchers, and creative strategists to design and develop ad experiences that are player-first, engaging, and commercially effective.

Hybrid:

This role is anticipated to be a hybrid work position, and the home studio for this role is San Francisco, CA

Your role within Xbox Media

  • Contribute to the end-to-end design of new immersive ad formats, from early concepts and prototypes through to production.

  • Translate product requirements and early ideas into clear, cohesive design solutions that feel native to gameplay.

  • Participate in creative ideation sessions and contribute concepts that balance player experience with advertiser value.

  • Communicate design ideas through clear storytelling, visual design, prototypes, and motion.

  • Collaborate with product, engineering, marketing, creative, and research partners to develop and iterate on concepts.

  • Design interaction patterns and visual systems that are intuitive, engaging, and aligned with game mechanics.

  • Support player research and playtesting to validate design decisions and improve the experience.

  • Create and maintain design documentation, specifications, and implementation guidelines.

  • Incorporate feedback from design leads, stakeholders, users, and cross-functional partners.

  • Advocate for player needs and high-quality design throughout the product development process.

  • Stay informed about trends in gaming, advertising, interaction design, and immersive media.

  • Create animations and polished prototypes that demonstrate user interface interactions and intended behaviors.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of relevant professional experience in product, interaction, visual, or creative design required; 8+ years preferred.

  • BA/BS degree is preferred; equivalent combinations of education and relevant experience may be considered, with years of relevant experience considered in lieu of formal education.

  • A portfolio demonstrating thoughtful product and interaction design work, including examples of interactive or game-related experiences.

  • Experience applying, evolving, or contributing to visual design systems,

  • Experience using prototyping or motion tools such as Principle, Framer, After Effects, or similar platforms.

  • A solid understanding of user-centered design principles, interaction design, and visual design fundamentals.

Bonus qualifications

  • Experience designing ad formats, monetization features, or branded experiences within games.

  • Illustration skills that can support the creation of game-inspired assets, icons, storyboards, or UI elements.

  • Experience creating motion design or interactive prototypes for real-time environments.

In the U.S., the standard base pay range for this role is $124,000.00 - $229,400.00 Annual. These values reflect the expected base pay range of new hires across all U.S. locations. Ultimately, your specific range and offer will be based on several factors, including relevant experience, performance, and work location. Your Talent Professional can share this role's range details for your local geography during the hiring process. In addition to a competitive base pay, employees in this role may be eligible for incentive compensation. Incentive compensation is not guaranteed.
