Remote Game Studios Internships are temporary positions offered by game development companies that allow students or aspiring professionals to gain practical experience in the video game industry while working from home or any location with internet access. Interns may contribute to areas such as game design, programming, art, sound, or quality assurance, collaborating with team members virtually. These internships provide valuable industry exposure, networking opportunities, and a chance to build a portfolio without the need to relocate.

What does a typical day look like for an intern at a remote game studio, and how is work coordinated among distributed teams?

As a remote game studios intern, your typical day often involves joining daily stand-up meetings via video calls, collaborating with team members through project management tools like Jira or Trello, and communicating frequently on platforms such as Slack or Discord. Tasks may include participating in code reviews, testing game features, or contributing to asset creation, depending on your discipline. Coordination across time zones is a common challenge, so strong self-management and proactive communication are essential. You'll receive mentorship from experienced developers and designers, and regular check-ins help ensure you stay connected and supported throughout your internship.
