Job Description

Step into a pivotal leadership role where you’ll guide mid-to-large commercial projects from initial concept and proposal development right through to final close-out. You’ll lead pre-construction under CM, drive design-to-tender workflows, convert to a stipulated-sum model, and execute construction with precision, accountability and collaboration.

As a mentor and coach, you’ll empower project managers and coordinators to raise their game, foster strong partnerships with clients and subcontractors, and drive continuous improvements in safety, quality and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own full-lifecycle delivery of mid-to-large commercial and institutional projects (roughly $30 M+ in scope)
  • Oversee cradle-to-grave project delivery, including: Design review and constructability input, Estimating, budgeting (Class D, Class B, Tender) and cost control, Tendering, procurement, and contract administration, Construction sequencing, site logistics, and methodology development, Close-out, hand-off, and client transition
  • Manage both open CM (CCDC 5A/5B) and converted CM (CCDC 2) delivery models: Shift projects from open to fixed-sum contracts through risk identification and tender recap, Mitigate risks and capitalize on opportunities throughout construction
  • Craft compelling proposals and methodologies that win work and clearly articulate “what’s in it for the client”
  • Implement estimating input, subtrade buy-outs, contracts, change-order controls and robust forecasts
  • Mentor project managers, coordinators, superintendents and support staff—develop tomorrow’s leaders today
  • Foster client, consultant and subcontractor relationships that drive repeat business and strong referrals
  • Embed continuous improvement: streamline processes, reinforce safety best practices, capture lessons learned
Qualifications

You bring grit, accountability, and an entrepreneurial mindset to every project. You thrive in a hands-on environment, solving problems on the fly and building trust through clear, respectful communication - even when the pressure’s on. 

These are the MINIMUM requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience working at a general contract (not developer)
  • 3+ years in a direct Project Manager role working on on mid-to-large commercial projects
  • Proven track record managing projects from design through completion
  • At minimum, a technical diploma in an appropriate construction-related field (CET), or equivalent construction experience
  • Demonstrated CM conversion experience (CCDC 5A/5B to CCDC 2)
  • Strong understanding of Construction Management processes and delivery models
  • Strong budgeting skills (Class D, B, Tender levels) and tendering process knowledge
  • Skilled in risk management, opportunity identification, and tender recap preparation
  • Proficient with MS Project (scheduling), site logistics planning, and methodology development
  • Strong forecasting and financial reporting abilities
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to balance office and site work

Expected Salary: $100,000 - $150,000

The base salary range for this role is listed above and may vary based on your experience. This position also includes a competitive bonus program. Throughout the interview process, we’ll discuss your background to determine the best alignment for your experience level.
