Job Description

JOB SUMMARY

Working independently and exercising good judgment the Graphic Design Student Assistant will perform all duties and assignments related to the design, content creation, and promotion of Liberty Club Sports and teams. Club Sports Marketing exists to promote teams, events, department functions and other University initiatives. It seeks to do so by generating and enacting creative initiatives to capture new customers, athletes and fans, as well as connect with current members of teams. This position will assist with Club Sports event promotion execution and preparation, ticketing for Club Sport events, scripts, and all fan engagement activities.

Ideal candidates will be able to offer creative solutions/ideas for the betterment or creation of events/campaigns, take initiative to ensure events are running smoothly and to Club Sports' standards, communicate clearly/effectively, and complete assignments in a timely manner.

Candidates will be responsible for assisting with departmental paperwork, departmental e-mail communication, running errands, Club Sports event's needs, and other assigned tasks as needed. This is a position that requires professional, courteous, and polite interactions with Liberty University Staff and external guests. Furthermore, this position may require some evening & weekend availability.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Remains abreast of existing and emerging technologies, processes, products, services and leading industry performance benchmarks.

2. Works effectively as a team member, embracing and fostering LU's mission.

3. Assist with marketing projects for Club Sport teams and department.

4. Remain up to date on industry standards with graphic design, photography and other technology and platforms.

5. Support individual team's season branding campaigns, marketing strategies, social content, including season graphic packages, nationals graphics, game-day promotions, support special events and summer programming as needed, etc.

6. Will build and provide seasonal graphic files to social media managers as needed

7. Ability to create and turn around social media content quickly as situations can arise at any time

8. Ideal candidate will be able to take initiative on future projects and offer creative ideas and solutions to the team

9. Work with photography on schedules, gear sign-out, away event photography and other needs.

10. Create graphic content for print, web and social media; including attractions guide ads, rink decoration, video board media, jersey designs, special events materials, presentations, awards, ticketing webpage, promotions schedules, website needs and more.

11. Maintain file organization and tracking documents for all projects given and be able to provide status updates as requested

12. Assist in game-day promotional and fan engagement at club sport events, including set-up, teardown, intermissions, giveaways, special events or groups, and more as assigned.

13. Assist with promotion of events on campus including distributing marketing materials and setting up signage.

14. Other duties as assigned.
