Position Description
The St. James is seeking a Sports Marketing & Social Media Intern for the Spring 2026 semester. This on-site internship supports social media and digital marketing efforts across The St. James' sports, programs, and events. The role is hands-on and content-driven, with a strong focus on live coverage, short-form video, and community engagement.
The intern will work closely with the marketing team, coaches, and program leaders to help capture and share the energy of The St. James across social platforms. This role is on-site in Springfield, VA.
Responsibilities
• Capture photo and short-form video content at practices, games, classes, events, and special activations
• Edit short-form content for Instagram Reels, TikTok, Stories, and YouTube Shorts
• Assist with writing captions, hashtags, and calls-to-action aligned with brand voice
• Support execution of social media calendars and campaigns
• Monitor comments and messages and flag relevant items to the marketing team
• Assist with live or real-time social coverage during events and tournaments
• Collaborate with coaches, program directors, and on-site staff to coordinate content opportunities
• Follow brand guidelines to ensure content reflects a premium, energetic, and family-friendly environment
• Provide on-site marketing support including events, signage, and promotional materials
Basic Qualifications
• Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a program in Marketing, Communications, Sports Management, Digital Media, or related field
• Strong interest in sports, fitness, and community-based programming
• Familiarity with Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, and Facebook
• Basic experience creating and editing photo and video content
• Strong written communication skills
• Ability to work evenings and weekends as needed
• Reliable, professional, and comfortable working in live-event environments
