What is a game presentation?

A Game Presentation job involves managing the in-game entertainment experience for live sporting events. This includes coordinating music, videos, lighting, fan engagement activities, and in-arena hosts to enhance the atmosphere. Professionals in this role work closely with producers, announcers, and technical staff to ensure seamless execution. Their goal is to create an exciting and immersive experience for fans while supporting the team's brand and energy. Strong organizational, communication, and event production skills are essential for success in this role.

What does a typical game day look like for someone in game presentation?

On a typical game day, Game Presentation professionals arrive early to coordinate pre-game run-throughs, set up audio-visual equipment, and finalize scripts or show cues with production and entertainment teams. They work closely with announcers, technical staff, performers, and marketing teams to ensure all segments—such as player introductions, fan contests, and sponsor activations—run smoothly. During the event, they manage timing, troubleshoot technical issues, and adapt quickly to real-time changes while keeping audience energy high. The role is fast-paced, collaborative, and demands strong multitasking abilities throughout the event.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive in game presentation, and why are they important?

To thrive in Game Presentation, you need strong event coordination skills, an understanding of live entertainment, and experience with audio-visual technology or in-arena production. Familiarity with systems such as show control software, video display platforms, and professional audio equipment is often required, and certifications in event management or AV technology can be beneficial. Creativity, attention to detail, teamwork, and the ability to remain calm under pressure are valuable soft skills for this role.
