Job description

About the Role Working within the Cougars Athletics and Recreation department, these are flexible positions whose work schedule is variable and may include an irregular schedule of not less than three (3) hours per shift and up to thirty-five (35) hours per week. These positions will end March 31, 2027. The Game Day Supervisor is responsible for overseeing game day staff, adhering to Canada West and U SPORTS requirements.

This position is ideal for an outgoing individual who has an interest in sports and event management. The Game Day Supervisor will need to learn all positions they oversee and will be responsible for game day set up and supporting staff with trouble shooting. Experience in leadership is important in this position.

Responsibilities Supervise all game day casual and flexible term staff on game nights Develop an understanding of statistical software, scorekeeping processes and equipment troubleshooting to solve problems on game days Learn all positions the role oversees to be able to support as needed, including use of software and equipment Supervise league requirements, access control, and visiting team services Collaborate with Cougars Athletics & Recreation Facilities Staff for set up and tear down at game day Responsible for dealing with all issues as the highest level of escalation during game day operation Holds decision making power over game day staff and league reporting duties during events Qualifications 12 - 18 months of related experience Passion for sports with a knowledge of basketball, hockey, soccer and/or volleyball Good time management skills - able to plan and prioritize Ability to work all shifts between Thursday - Sunday afternoons and evenings Highly motivated individual who can work well independently under pressure Commitment to time management and punctuality A strong leader with excellent communication skills Strong focus and attention to detail Ability to lift items of up to 50lbs on an occasional basis Salary: $21.87 - $27.61 per hour Closing Date: Open until suitable candidates are found A resume and cover letter should be submitted in one .pdf document.
