Basic Job Functions:

Essential Functions:

  • Providing technical support for all HDG units, reporting HDG process performance to Senior management, and managing/improving statistical systems that define product/process capabilities
  • Assist in developing kettle maintenance program.
  • Assist in developing best Zinc saving best practices.
  • Oversee sulfuric acid recovery operations
  • Responsible for daily and weekly process tank titrations and galvanizing bath chemistry.
  • Ensure product quality meets specified standards and assigned personnel make inspections as required by standard procedures.
  • Report and investigate all incidents in a timely manner.
  • Ensure accurate and timely reporting of assigned personnel's time and production through various production reports.
  • Record galvanizing residues for regulatory record keeping.
  • Maintain good housekeeping and safe working conditions in assigned areas.
  • Train new employees into department activities and safety procedures
  • Actively participate in monthly Safety Leadership Team meetings
  • Maintain process tanks at required levels of concentrations for quality galvanizing.
  • Serve as a champion for various teams/projects to promote continuous improvement.

This position reports to the NTS Coatings Supervisor.

Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Three years of supervisory or management experience in and industrial environment.
  • Working knowledge of OSHA, environmental regulations, and state and federal labor standards.
