Job description

First Shift Steel & Metals Warehouse Associate
Automation Personnel Services is hiring skilled Steel & Metals Warehouse Associates for a busy metal distribution center in Alpharetta, GA. With over a century in business, this company is a proven leader in the steel and metals industry. This role involves working directly with steel and other metals, including handling heavy materials, tracking inventory, operating forklifts and overhead cranes, and completing additional warehouse responsibilities.
Pay Rate
$18.00 per hour
Schedule and Hours
Monday through Friday, 7:00 am to 3:00 pm
Some overtime may be mandatory
First Shift Steel & Metals Warehouse Associate Duties and Responsibilities
• Safely load, unload, and move steel and metal materials using overhead cranes and forklifts.
• Receive, label, and record incoming and outgoing metal shipments.
• Stage, position, and prepare materials for processing or distribution.
• Support shipping operations and enter data into warehouse management systems.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment.
• Perform additional duties as needed.
First Shift Steel & Metals Warehouse Associate Qualifications and Requirements
• High school diploma or GED.
• At least 2 years of hands-on work experience in the steel, aluminum, or metals industry.
• Prior forklift and overhead crane experience strongly preferred.
• Ability to read a tape measure accurately and perform basic math.
• Basic computer knowledge for order entry and inventory tracking.
• Detail-oriented with a strong focus on safety and teamwork.
• Must be able to lift up to 75 lbs repeatedly during the shift; lifting assessment required.
• Drug screening and background check is required.
