Syracuse NY
Fusco Personnel is seeking a Superintendent to oversee field operations on commercial construction projects valued at up to $30M. This position is responsible for coordinating trade contractors, maintaining project schedules, enforcing safety standards, and ensuring high-quality project execution from start to finish. This opportunity is ideal for a construction professional who thrives in a collaborative environment, enjoys solving complex field challenges, and has experience managing commercial or industrial construction projects in a superintendent capacity.
Responsibilities:
  • Direct day-to-day coordination of trade contractors and subcontractors to ensure quality work and adherence to project schedules
  • Develop, document, and communicate field work plans and project changes
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of contract documents, specifications, and drawings to proactively identify and resolve potential issues
  • Participate in constructability reviews and evaluate impacts of project changes
  • Coordinate permitting activities and verify subcontractor compliance with required permits and approvals
  • Serve as the primary field safety representative while promoting and enforcing all safety standards and project safety plans
  • Lead contractor and subcontractor meetings on a regular basis
  • Create, maintain, and update project schedules while implementing contingency and recovery plans when necessary
  • Communicate schedule updates, project progress, and field changes to project teams and trade contractors
  • Plan, coordinate, and manage overall jobsite logistics and field operations
  • Oversee project quality plans, complete inspections, and implement corrective actions
  • Coordinate material deliveries and crew scheduling with project support teams
  • Maintain daily project reports and documentation using construction management software
  • Assist with scope development, subcontractor buyout activities, and Time & Materials tracking
  • Lead daily safety meetings, stretch and flex activities, huddles, and pre-task plan reviews
  • Coach/mentor junior field staff while fostering a collaborative and inclusive work environment
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred OR equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Approximately 4–8 years of experience on commercial or industrial construction projects valued at $15M–$30M or larger in a superintendent role
  • Demonstrated experience managing field operations, scheduling, safety, and subcontractors
  • Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, scheduling, cost control, and project documentation
  • Excellent communication, leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to adapt to changing project demands and collaborate effectively with project teams
  • Construction-document and drawing literate with knowledge of all phases of construction
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and construction management/scheduling software
  • Strong commitment to construction safety and ability to promote a “safety first” culture on-site
  • OSHA 30-hour certification required
  • STS-C Certification preferred
  • First Aid, CPR, AED, and Stop the Bleed certifications preferred
Salary: $83,22 - $104,000 (Our client will pay higher for experience) plus benefits and retirement plan
