Job description

Finish Pros | Raleigh, NC (Triangle Area) (MUST ALREADY BE LOCATED IN USA)

If you’ve ever thought about working for yourself—but didn’t want the stress of chasing jobs, handling clients, or managing overhead—this is the opportunity you’ve been looking for.

At Finish Pros, we’ve built a system where skilled upholsterers can focus entirely on their craft. We handle the sales, prep, materials, and logistics—so you can do what you do best, all day, every day.

We specialize in high-end residential and commercial furniture, delivering design-driven, detail-oriented reupholstery and restoration work.

What You’ll Do

  • Full frame-up upholstery, including:

    • Webbing, spring work (8-way hand-tied, sinuous, coil)

    • Foam build-up and padding

    • Precision fabric cutting, sewing, and application

  • Work on a wide range of pieces:

    • Sofas, sectionals, and lounge seating

    • Dining chairs, barstools, and accent pieces

    • Custom and commercial projects

  • Execute clean, consistent work based on detailed work orders

  • Collaborate with our prep, design, and production teams

What Makes This Role Different

At Finish Pros, you are not running a business—you are mastering your craft.

  • No sourcing clients

  • No quoting or invoicing

  • No chasing materials or payments

  • No stripping or heavy prep work

You walk in, your project is prepped, materials are ready, and you get to work.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Piece-rate pay structure with published rates (you know what each job pays upfront)

  • Typical earnings: $68,000 – $80,000/year

  • Top performers: $80,000 – $90,000+

  • Consistent 40-hour work week with steady year-round work

Benefits Include:

  • Healthcare contribution (QSEHRA)

  • 11 paid holidays (including Christmas–New Year closure)

  • 2 weeks paid vacation after 90 days

  • Unpaid flex time when needed

  • All tools, equipment, and supplies provided

This structure is designed to outperform independent work in both income stability and quality of life

What We’re Looking For

  • 5+ years of furniture upholstery experience (not auto or marine)

  • Strong frame-up skills including:

    • Spring systems and structural work

    • Foam and padding techniques

    • Pattern matching and sewing

  • Experience working with fabric, vinyl, and leather

  • Detail-oriented with pride in craftsmanship

  • Reliable, steady, and team-focused

  • Have experience with tufting, channel backs, or complex builds

  • Have worked in a high-end or design-driven shop

  • Prefer focusing on production rather than managing clients

What This Is Not

  • Not a 1099 or freelance role

  • Not a “bring your own customers” setup

  • Not a beginner position

This is a long-term W-2 career opportunity for skilled upholsterers who want consistency, respect, and strong earning potential.
