As a Furniture Design Intern, you can expect to spend your days supporting lead designers by assisting with conceptual sketches, digital renderings, and building prototypes of furniture pieces. You'll collaborate closely with team members from different departments, such as engineering and production, to refine designs and ensure manufacturability. Daily tasks might also include researching materials, preparing presentation boards, and occasionally attending client or vendor meetings. This hands-on structure provides valuable exposure to the full product development cycle and nurtures both technical and creative growth.
To thrive as a Furniture Design Intern, you should have a solid understanding of design principles, proficiency in drawing or drafting, and currently be pursuing or have recently completed a degree in industrial design, interior design, or a related field. Familiarity with CAD software (such as AutoCAD or SketchUp), 3D modeling tools, and sometimes fabrication machinery is highly valued. Strong creativity, attention to detail, and collaborative communication skills set exceptional candidates apart. These capabilities enable interns to contribute innovative yet practical ideas to design teams and adapt quickly in a dynamic studio environment.
A Furniture Design Intern assists in designing and developing furniture pieces, creating sketches, 3D models, and renderings. They collaborate with designers, engineers, and manufacturers to refine concepts and ensure functionality. Interns may also conduct material research, prototype testing, and gain hands-on experience with design software. This role provides valuable industry exposure and helps build technical skills in furniture design.

Responsibilities: As a Design Intern you will work within our Design department with a strong work ethic and ability to work in a fast paced environment. You will be re provide general design support for interior designers within the furniture dealership industry. Every intern has a different experience at COR due to the nature of the work we have at the time.
Qualifications: Currently pursuing a degree in Interior Design, will consider Architecture and Facilities Management students as long as they have strong AutoCAD skills
