Job Description:

About the role:

As Senior Investment Product Manager, you'll help support our sales team with clear product insights, timely answers, and useful communications that position our investment solutions effectively. You'll also lead key regulatory commentary, deliver product training, maintain sales materials with marketing, and monitor the competitive landscape to help identify new opportunities. Primary goal is to facilitate the commercial success SLGI's mutual fund and ETF shelf through strategic positioning of our products.

What will you do?

  • Provides strategic product support to the sales team by responding to detailed inquiries and delivering weekly value-added communications that help position our products effectively against competitors.
  • Leads the completion of key regulatory commentary deliverables, including MRFP filings.
  • Delivers ongoing product presentations and training to the sales team, helping strengthen product knowledge and understanding of key financial concepts, including fixed income mutual funds / ETFs, equity mutual fund /ETFs
  • Send out value-added sales e-mails on a weekly basis. Positioning products vs competitors.
  • Answer all inquiries from our sales team and other stakeholders.
  • Complete MRFP on semi-annual basis to ensure all regulatory commitments are met.
  • Update and maintain all marketing and sales collateral in collaboration with our marketing team.
  • Ongoing evaluation of competitive environment to identify new sales opportunities.

What do you need to succeed?

  • 5 - 10 years of experience with Investment Product Management (Mutual Funds and ETFs) or a similar role
  • Bachelors degree in Finance, Economics or related
  • Canadian Securities Course (CSC)
  • Expert knowledge of mutual funds
  • Expert knowledge of ETFs
  • Expert knowledge of fixed income
  • Expert knowledge of equities
  • High level of proficiency using Morningstar Direct and other industry resources (e.g. Sedar, financial reports, etc.)
  • Strong understanding of economic and financial concepts
  • The role requires strong knowledge of the English language. Majority of our sub-advisors operate out of the United States and Ontario. Additionally, majority of our sales force works in English.
  • As this position is posted in several locations, we specify that bilingualism (French, English, both oral and written) is requiredfor Quebec onlyfor the frequent interactions with English and French-speaking colleagues or internal partners across Canada or worldwide.

The Base Pay range is for the primary location for which the job is posted. It may vary depending on the work location of the successful candidate or other factors. In addition to Base Pay, eligible Sun Life employees participate in various incentive plans, payment under which is discretionary and subject to individual and company performance.
