Job description

We're seeking an experienced Mechanical Project Engineer to support capital projects at a heavy industrial steel manufacturing facility. This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer who enjoys leading projects from planning through commissioning while working in a hands-on industrial environment.ResponsibilitiesLead mechanical capital projects from planning through installation and commissioning.Perform heat load calculations for HVAC and utility systems.Manage project schedules, budgets, contractors, and vendors.Coordinate with civil engineering firms and internal stakeholders.Oversee equipment installation, startup, and field execution.Support engineering design for smaller HVAC projects (10โ€“20 ton systems).Manage execution and field oversight of larger projects (60+ ton systems).Ensure projects are completed safely, on schedule, and within budget.Qualifications10+ years of Mechanical or Project Engineering experience in heavy industrial manufacturing.Experience leading capital projects from concept through commissioning.Commissioning experience in greenfield and/or brownfield environments preferred.Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, including heat load calculations.Experience with equipment installation, gearboxes, alignments, rotating equipment, and industrial utilities.Experience managing contractors, vendors, and cross-functional project teams.Steel industry experience is a plus but not required. #J-18808-Ljbffr
