Role and Responsibilities

As a Pediatric Functional Provider, you will be a key member of our Functional Medicine team, providing excellent care to pediatric patients while collaborating with our multidisciplinary team to deliver innovative, value-based care. In this role, you will have the opportunity to build a pediatric medicine practice, cultivate internal and external referral networks, and contribute to the growth of FMI.

  • Patient Care: Provide comprehensive pediatric care that integrates functional medicine principles, focusing on treating the whole child, addressing the root causes of health concerns, and promoting long-term wellness.
  • Collaborative Care: Work closely with a team of providers, nurses, nutritionists, and health coaches to ensure the highest quality of care and optimize the patient experience.
  • Practice Development: Build a patient-focused functional medicine practice, creating and nurturing an internal and external referral network that brings pediatric patients to FMI for care.
  • Continuous Improvement: Provide feedback to the Medical Director and Practice Administrator on ways to enhance patient flow, EMR documentation, diagnostic testing, and therapeutic approaches.
  • Shared Medical Visits: Provide clinical support during shared medical visits, contributing to patient education and collaborative care plans.
  • Flexibility: Be flexible to complete tasks and additional responsibilities as requested by your next-level supervisor.
  • Company Event Involvement: Participate in company hosted events and efforts to build provider patient panels and culture initiatives.

Qualifications and/or Work Experience Requirements

  • Professional:
  • 5+ years of experience, preferably in a primary care or outpatient setting.
  • Experience applying medicine within practice.
  • Medical Doctor, Nurse Practitioner, or Physician Assistant.
  • Prescriptive authority in Idaho or eligible to obtain licensure.
  • Licensed or eligible for prescriptive licensure in Idaho.
  • Knowledge:
  • Awareness of functional medicine principles and practices.
  • Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team, including caregivers, students, and patients.
  • Education/Licensure:
  • Higher education from an accredited institution required.
  • Preferred:
  • Experience applying Functional Medicine within practice.
  • Certified through the Institute for Functional Medicine (IFM) Preferred
  • Additional training in functional medicine will be considered.
