Job description

FULL TIME-NIGHTS
Sunday, Thursday and Friday

Scope
A Polysomnographic Technologist Sr. works under the general supervision of the Medical Director, and designee (department director/manager/supervisor) to provide comprehensive evaluation and treatment of sleep disorders. This may involve polysomnography, diagnostic and therapeutic services or patient care and education. A Polysomnographic Technologist II can perform the duties defined for a Polysomnographic Technologist and provides assigned by department director/manager/supervisor supervision of other staff.
Qualifications
  • Formal training in polysomnography program and/or enrolled in a program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) or a Commission on Accreditation for Respiratory Care (CoARC) program with the polysomnography option OR enrolled in or have completed the A-STEP online Self Study Modules.
  • Non-registered technologists and technicians must complete A-Step online Self Study Modules within two years of enrollment.
  • All technical staff must participate in at minimum 10 hours per year (averaged over three years) of sleep-related continuing education credits.
  • Minimum 3 years' experience as a fully registered, full-time polysomnographic technologist.
  • Three years' experience working in the field of Sleep Medicine required.
  • CRT-Polysomnographic Technologist-BRPT (Board of Registered) Required or
  • CRT-Respiratory Therapist Registry-NBRC (National Board of Respiratory Care) Required Or
  • CRT-Registered Sleep Technologist-ABSM (American Board of Sleep Medicine Require Or
  • CRT-Basic Life support Required (American Heart Association or American Red Cross).
