Description
Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced CNC Programmer with expertise in Lathe and Mill-Turn machining to support the production of high-precision aerospace components. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing, optimizing, and maintaining CNC programs for complex parts manufactured from aerospace-grade materials while ensuring compliance with stringent quality, safety, and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
  • Develop, modify, and optimize CNC programs for multi-axis CNC lathes and mill-turn machines.
  • Interpret complex aerospace engineering drawings, specifications, and GD&T requirements.
  • Create machining strategies using CAD/CAM software to manufacture tight-tolerance aerospace components.
  • Select tooling, fixtures, cutting parameters, and work-holding solutions for efficient production.
  • Program and support machining of aerospace materials including titanium, Inconel, stainless steel, aluminum alloys, and other exotic metals.
  • Collaborate with Manufacturing Engineering, Quality, and Operations teams to improve processes and resolve technical issues.
  • Conduct prove-outs and first article inspections (FAI) to ensure program accuracy and compliance with customer requirements.
  • Reduce cycle times and improve productivity through continuous process optimization.
  • Troubleshoot programming, tooling, setup, and machining challenges to minimize downtime.
  • Maintain program documentation, setup sheets, tooling lists, and revision histories.
  • Support AS9100 quality requirements and aerospace customer specifications.
  • Ensure compliance with all company safety, quality, and regulatory standards.

Required Qualifications
  • 5+ years of CNC programming experience in a precision manufacturing environment.
  • 3+ years of experience programming and supporting CNC lathes and mill-turn equipment.
  • Strong proficiency with CAD/CAM software such as Mastercam, SolidWorks, NX CAM, Fusion 360, or similar platforms.
  • Advanced knowledge of G-code, M-code, machining practices, and cutting tool technologies.
  • Ability to read and interpret aerospace blueprints, engineering drawings, and GD&T.
  • Experience with multi-axis machining and complex part geometries.
  • Strong problem-solving, analytical, and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to work independently and in a collaborative team environment.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Aerospace manufacturing experience strongly preferred.
  • Experience with Fanuc, Mazak, Okuma, Siemens, or Mori Seiki controls.
  • Knowledge of AS9100 quality systems and First Article Inspection (AS9102).
  • Familiarity with Statistical Process Control (SPC) and process capability studies.
  • Experience machining critical flight, engine, structural, or landing gear components.
  • Technical degree or certification in CNC Programming, Manufacturing Technology, or a related field.
