Assistant General Manager, Business Development - Booking & Live Entertainment

Assistant General Manager, Business Development - Booking & Live Entertainment

Intuit Dome

Inglewood, CA โ€ข On-site

Full-time

Medical, Dental, Vision, Life, Retirement, PTO

Job description

The Halo Sports & Entertainment (HSE) has created a senior-level leadership role responsible for driving live entertainment programming strategy across their two major venues, Intuit Dome and KIA Forum, with distinct operational profiles. The Assistant General Manager, Business Development - Booking & Live Entertainment reports directly to the GM, serving as the organization's chief programming strategist, deal-maker, and team leader.
Intuit Dome is an NBA arena where the NBA schedule anchors the calendar. This leader must expertly navigate NBA blackout dates, changeover windows, and scheduling constraints to identify and book complementary events - major concerts, collegiate sports championships, family shows, and special productions - that keep the building active and revenue-generating around the team's home schedule.
KIA Forum is a high-volume concert venue, hosting approximately 100-110 concerts and live events per year. This building is already a proven, high-frequency programming engine. The Assistant General Manager, Business Development - Booking & Live Entertainment must sustain that momentum, protect and grow key promoter and agency relationships, and identify opportunities to elevate the caliber and diversity of programming without disrupting operational throughput.
Across both venues, the goal is simple: keep both buildings consistently busy, maximize revenue per available date, and build 3-5 year event pipeline that positions HSE as a dominant force in live entertainment in the market.
The Assistant General Manager, Business Development - Booking & Live Entertainment must provide unified senior leadership across both venues - bringing strategic vision, deep industry relationships, and team-building capability to an operation that requires both big-picture planning and day-to-day booking excellence. The successful candidate will build the team, shape both venues' identities and reputations in the market, and define how the organization competes for live entertainment at the highest level.
This is a full-time role based in Inglewood, CA and is eligible for our competitive benefit offering including medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan with company contribution, Well-Being Allowance, and more. The scope of this position encompasses a 24 hour, 7 day a week operation with the transition of numerous daily events. Due to the nature of this industry, the candidate must be available to work a flexible schedule including weeknights, weekends, and holidays to cover high profile concerts and NBA games.
What You Will Do
  • Own the programming strategy across both venues - develop and maintain a 3-5 year event pipeline, treating each building as a distinct challenge with its own calendar constraints, audience profile, and revenue goals.
  • Lead all booking and deal-making - negotiate with major agencies (CAA, WME, UTA, etc.) and national promoters (Live Nation, AEG) for touring acts, collegiate sports championships, and special events; build multi-year artist and promoter relationships, not just transactional bookings.
  • Develop and produce original events - identify self-production opportunities, evaluate show acquisitions, and structure co-production partnerships; build a disciplined evaluation framework for assessing each opportunity's financial and strategic merit.
  • Integrate programming with marketing - partner with the Marketing team on the on-sale strategy, promotional timing, and audience development from day one of every deal; use ticket performance data to continuously sharpen the programming mix.
  • Lead and develop a team of 4-7 booking professionals - structured to support the high-volume rhythm of the KIA Forum and the strategic, windows-based demands of Intuit Dome.
  • Shape venue identity - make deliberate programming choices, including underserved cultural and genre communities, that build each venue's reputation as a must-play destination for artists, promoters, and fans.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with the LA Clippers NBA operations, Arena/Venue Ops, Sponsorship, and Premium Sales to ensure every event is fully supported from announcement through execution.

What We're Looking For
  • 10+ years of progressive experience in live entertainment booking, venue programming, or talent agency/promoter representation.
  • 5+ years leading a booking or programming team.
  • Existing relationships with major talent agencies (CAA, WME, UTA) and national promoters (Live Nation, AEG)
  • Demonstrated track record booking arena and theater-level touring acts across multiple genres and artist tiers - not just marquee names.
  • Experience managing high-volume venue programming at a pace of 100+ events per year.
  • Fluency in event P&L, on-sale strategy, ticket scaling, and multi-venue revenue forecasting.
  • Experience working alongside professional sports franchise operations preferred.
  • Background on the promoter or agency side of the business strongly welcomed - this search is open to candidates from either side of the table.

What We're Looking For
This is a rare opportunity to continue building the booking function - with full ownership of strategy, team structure, and culture - at an organization with two of the most compelling venue assets in the region.
โ€ข A newly created role with no incumbent - you define how this organization competes in live entertainment.
โ€ข Two-venue platform: an NBA arena with significant programming upside and a high-volume concert venue with established promoter relationships and proven throughput.
โ€ข Entrepreneurial mandate: license to originate, acquire, and co-produce events - not just book them.
