Job description

Are you passionate about delivering efficient, high-quality repair solutions while making a meaningful impact in your community?

At Habitat for Humanity of Seattle-King & Kittitas Counties, one of the largest Habitat affiliates in the country, we're looking for dynamic, solutions-oriented professionals who thrive in fast-paced environments, embrace challenges, and are dedicated to generating a lasting impact on affordable homeownership in the Puget Sound. Since 1986, we've created 1,000 housing solutions for more than 2,600 people and successfully advocated for fair housing policies at the city, county, and state levels. As we set our sights on doubling our impact and serving an additional 2,000 people by 2030, we need the right team members to help us get there.

Join us as a Repair Project Manager, where you'll contribute to effective repair project management, ensure high-quality repairs and maintenance, and help support our mission of affordable homeownership. Learn more about our work at www.habitatskc.org.

Your Impact:

Repair Project Support

  • Arrange site visits with qualified homeowners and Associate Director of Repairs (ADR) to assess repair needs on assigned projects; work with ADR and Repair Site Managers (RSMs) to develop budgets for on-site work, and obtain bids for all subcontracted work.
  • Support ADR in building out project schedules; for subcontracted work, directly manage communication with homeowners and subcontractors during bidding process.
  • On each assigned repair project, track life cycle of work through communication with key stakeholders and accurate documentation. Prepare project-related documentation prior to repair project commencement. Coordinate with ADR on change orders relating to self-performed work; evaluate need for change orders on subcontracted projects. Prepare and obtain signed change orders, sign-offs, and project summaries while projects are in process and completed.
  • Respond to and document actions taken to resolve warranty claims, as it pertains to assigned projects. If warranty claim is related to subcontracted work, manage solution with necessary parties. If claim is related to work performed by Habitat staff or volunteers, support ADR in addressing the issue as needed.
  • Research, vet and establish relationships with area contractors and suppliers to gain support for project execution.
  • Foster collaboration with potential repair partners in the community for projects beyond Habitat's scope or budget, or for specific repair needs (ramps, manufactured homes, etc.). Redirect and provide resources to qualified homeowners that need further resources.
  • Ensure necessary compliance procedures and documentation, specifically around lead safe practices, hazardous materials, and project permitting.
  • With Director and ADR, streamline processes to scale and increase program capacity, including expanding database of approved subcontractors and vendors.

Grants, Reporting and post-repair follow-up

  • Build understanding around current grants and budgets in order to better track capacity.
  • Generate content as needed for grant applications and reports.
  • Track Repair statistics for grant reporting and compliance purposes.
  • Take before and after photos of repair work and help maintain extensive photo database.

What You Bring:

  • Minimum two years of project administration, relevant field experience or comparable proven skills required.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills, attention to detail and ability to prioritize tasks appropriately.
  • Computer literate in word processing, spreadsheet and database software.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Self-motivated, able to interact well with a variety of people, handle multiple tasks simultaneously, and work well in a team environment.
  • Flexibility, sense of humor, and ability to work under pressure.
  • Required to work occasional evenings and weekends.

Our Mission: We build strength, stability, and self-reliance through shelter.
Our Vision: A world where everyone has a decent place to live.
Core Values: Lead with service. Respect all people. Build community. Deliver results.

Our people are our greatest asset and a vital part of achieving our mission. We offer generous benefits:

Health & Wellness: Medical, Dental, and Vision Coverage; Health Savings Account (HSA); Life and AD&D Insurance; Disability Insurance; Employee Assistance Program (EAP); Fitness Reimbursement
Financial & Retirement: 401(k) Retirement Plan with dollar-for-dollar match on employee contributions up to 6% of annual salary; Verizon Wireless discount; 25% Habitat Store discount
Paid Time Off: 15 vacation days per year; 11 paid holidays; 7 sick days per year; up to 3 days for bereavement (or 5 days if out-of-state travel is required); Jury Duty Leave
Professional Growth: Professional Reimbursement: $1,500-$3,000 annually depending on length of service; 30 dedicated training hours for skill-building and career advancement
Bonus Opportunity: This role is eligible for an annual bonus opportunity of up to 10%.

Join our team and make a difference in our community!
