With ten healthcare centers, eight Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) nutrition program locations, a Mobile Health Unit, and in-house Pharmacy services (select locations), we offer primary medical, dental, and behavioral healthcare services to community-based patient populations throughout Indiana that are diverse in age, educational background, and income level.
WIC is a nationally recognized nutrition program that effectively improves access to nutritious foods and promotes healthier lifestyles. The Indiana WIC Program provides services to an average of 145,000 women, infants, and children monthly through a network of 140 WIC clinics in Indiana. Indiana WIC also supports $105 million in food sales at over 600 WIC-authorized grocery stores and pharmacies throughout Indiana. IHC Grant County WIC (Women, Infants, and Children) in Marion is recruiting for a WIC Clerk to join our committed and skilled team. The WIC Clerk works with other WIC staff and WIC clients provides customer service to WIC clients, including initial screening, orientation and managing appointments. The WIC Clerk promotes breastfeeding as the preferred method of infant feeding by supporting the WIC participants, their families, and the public at large.
This full-time role is scheduled to work 34.25 hours per week.

Clinic Hours of Operation:
Monday - 9:00 a.m. - 7:00 p.m.
Tuesday - 8:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
Wednesday - 8:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
Thursday - 8:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
Friday - 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.

WIC Clerk role responsibilities include:
  • Screening income, identification, and residency documents; completing WIC certification and WIC check-generating forms.
  • Orienting clients to the WIC program.
  • Providing information about foods available and authorized vendors and explains the purpose of the WIC identification folder.
  • Explaining the purpose of the WIC identification folder.
  • Issuing WIC checks and secures required electronic signatures.
  • Sending form letters to clients covering eligibility, sanction, and appointment reminders.
  • Participating in occasional outreach work.
  • Assisting in the preparation of monthly reports., and completes other standard clerical tasks..

Required skills include:

Requirements
  • High School diploma or GED equivalent required
