Full Time Wayfinding Signage information

What is a full time wayfinding signage?

A Full Time Wayfinding Signage job involves designing, producing, installing, and maintaining visual signs that help people navigate spaces such as hospitals, airports, campuses, and public buildings. Professionals in this field ensure that signage is clear, accessible, and strategically placed for maximum effectiveness. Their tasks may include collaborating with architects, using design software, understanding accessibility standards, and sometimes overseeing fabrication and installation. This role is essential for improving user experience and ensuring safe, efficient wayfinding in complex environments.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive in a full time wayfinding signage role?

To thrive in a Full-Time Wayfinding Signage role, you need expertise in graphic design, spatial awareness, and a solid understanding of signage standards, often supported by a degree in design or a related field. Familiarity with design software like Adobe Illustrator, CAD systems, and print production processes is typically required. Attention to detail, problem-solving, and strong communication skills help in translating complex navigation needs into clear visual solutions. These skills ensure that signage is intuitive, accessible, and effectively guides people through spaces, enhancing user experience and safety.

What are some common challenges faced in a full time wayfinding signage role and how can they be addressed?

Job description

Sign Program Coordinator

Image360 – Plymouth

About the Opportunity

Image360 is a national leader in visual communications, signage, and environmental graphics. Our team specializes in large-scale healthcare wayfinding programs — helping hospital systems and medical campuses communicate clearly with patients, families, and staff.

We're adding a Sign Program Coordinator to support our account managers by owning the day-to-day technical infrastructure behind our sign programs: floor plans, sign schedules, project databases, and production handoffs. You don't need prior wayfinding or healthcare experience — you need to be sharp with data, comfortable with plans and drawings, and genuinely good at keeping complex information organized and accurate.

If you've worked in sign production, fabrication coordination, drafting, or a similarly detail-driven technical role and you're ready to grow into a specialized systems position, we want to hear from you.

What You'll Do

You'll be trained on our proprietary sign program management platform (SignAgent) — a structured, database-driven system used to run every active client program. No prior experience with it is required; strong candidates from sign production, CAD, or facilities backgrounds typically pick it up quickly.

Project Setup & Data Management
  • Learn to set up new client projects: upload floor plans, build sign type templates, and configure project structure
  • Maintain client databases as an accurate, current system of record — logging renovations, department changes, and room renaming
  • Generate sign schedules and location reports for handoff to production and installation teams
Site Survey Support
  • Help prepare for site surveys: uploading base plans and organizing survey structure ahead of field visits
  • Assist with or conduct field surveys — photographing existing signs, recording locations, verifying accuracy
  • Support reconciliation of survey data into final, clean project records
Supporting Account Managers
  • Process account manager requests for sign additions, deletions, message changes, and location updates
  • Turn client-reported changes — from walkthroughs, renovation notices, department moves — into accurate system updates
  • Prepare draft sign schedules and lists for account manager review before they go to clients
Building Good Habits
  • Learn and apply consistent naming conventions and numbering logic across projects
  • Support periodic database audits
  • Help document workflows and standards as you learn them — clear documentation is part of doing this job well
What We're Looking ForExperience
  • Background in facilities and construction support, sign production, fabrication coordination, drafting/CAD, or a similarly technical/detail-oriented coordination role
  • No wayfinding or healthcare experience required — we'll train you on the parts specific to our industry
  • Comfort with structured systems, spreadsheets, or database tools in a prior role (any industry)
Technical Skills
  • Able to read and work with architectural floor plans, technical drawings, or construction documents
  • Solid Excel or Google Sheets skills — comfortable with lists, formulas, and catching data errors
  • Willingness to learn Adobe Acrobat, and our internal platform (training provided)
What Makes You a Fit
  • Naturally organized, with an eye for catching small errors before they become big problems
  • You like building routines and processes
  • A strong communicator who can document what you learn so it's useful to others
  • Comfortable asking questions and taking direction while also flagging issues you notice
  • Steady under change — plans and information shift, and you adjust without losing track of details
Education

Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a related field is a plus but not required. We're more interested in demonstrated ability to manage detailed technical information accurately than in a specific credential.

What This Role Is Not

This role supports account managers — it doesn't replace them. This position does not:

  • Lead client relationships or serve as the primary client contact
  • Develop wayfinding strategy or design recommendations
  • Approve sign messages or design decisions independently
  • Manage project timelines, budgets, or change orders

You'll be trained and supported through a defined ramp-up period — this is a role built for someone ready to grow into a specialized skill set, not someone expected to arrive already knowing it.

Compensation & Benefits
  • Starting salary of $60,000 or greater, commensurate with experience
  • Full-time, salaried position
  • Mostly local travel, with occasional travel for site surveys as needed
  • Shared health insurance program
  • 401(k) program with company match
  • Paid time off

This role reports directly to the General Manager.
