Job Description

The schedule for this position is five 8-hour shifts per week 7a - 3:30p with every other weekend (Saturday and Sunday) and rotating holidays throughout the year required.

The Lead Continuous Visual Monitoring Technician reflects the mission, vision, and values of NM, adheres to the organization's Code of Ethics and Corporate Compliance Program, and complies with all relevant policies, procedures, guidelines and all other regulatory and accreditation standards.

Responsibilities:

  • Provides continuous safety observation via continuous video monitoring, of patients identified to be at risk for causing injury to themselves or to others. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: offering basic comfort measures to help the patient relax and addressing the emotional needs of specific patients served, including the use of encouragement, distraction, coping strategies, cognitive stimulation activities, and de-escalation techniques within the scope of this role as appropriate.
  • Monitors multiple patients via continuous video monitoring on site at Delnor Hospital. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: providing effective verbal redirection of designated remote continuous observation patients from engaging in risk behaviors and summoning appropriate staff via communication device/STAT Alert Alarm when appropriate.
  • Intake operations to receive order, set up Artisight camera and enters patient info, receives hand off from unit staff - ensures camera is functioning properly and finally assigns patient to CVM tech.
  • Discharge - ensure order is discontinued in Epic
  • Cross check orders vs camera numbers 
  • Assists with high acuity patient
  • trouble shoots with IT, artisight, epic, etc
  • data collection including per hospital and camera usage
  • staffing to include:
    • daily assignment for next shift
    • admission/discharge management
        • liaison with staffing office
        • break coverage
        • overall scheduling for assigned shift
        • leads shift huddle
  • Primary onboarding team member and will schedule orientation, facilitate check-ins and ensure competencies are completed timely
Qualifications

Required:

  • High School diploma or equivalent
