Overnight Emergency Veterinary Technician - CVT/LVT/RVT
Compensation: $21.75-$28.00/hour based on experience + $2.00/hour overnight differential + $1.00/hour weekend differential + $1,500 Sign-On Bonus for RVTs or up to $3,000 for RVTs with advanced anesthesia experience
Location: Wilmington, NC
Schedule: Full-Time | 12-Hour Overnight Shifts (Thursday-Saturday)

Eastern Carolina Veterinary Medical Center (ECVMC) is seeking a full-time Veterinary Technician to join our 24/7 Emergency team in Wilmington, NC.   • Thursday-Saturday | 6:00 PM-6:00 AM
  • Weekend and holiday availability required as part of the Emergency team schedule
Responsibilities
  • Provide exceptional nursing care for emergency and critical patients throughout their hospitalization.
  • Triage incoming emergency patients and assist veterinarians with rapid patient assessment.
  • Perform advanced Veterinary Technician skills including venipuncture, IV catheter placement, phlebotomy, medication administration, and patient monitoring.
  • Assist with anesthesia, emergency procedures, diagnostics, and advanced treatments.
  • Perform in-house laboratory testing and prepare diagnostic samples.
  • Monitor hospitalized patients and communicate changes promptly to the medical team.
  • Maintain complete and accurate medical records using EzyVet.
  • Educate and communicate with clients regarding diagnostics, treatment plans, and discharge instructions.
  • Collaborate closely with Emergency, Surgery, Orthopedics, and Rehabilitation teams to deliver exceptional patient care.
  • Support a collaborative, compassionate, and efficient Emergency department environment.
Qualifications
  • Minimum of 2 years of Veterinary Technician experience
  • Emergency, Critical Care, or Specialty Veterinary experience preferred
  • RVT, CVT, or LVT strongly preferred
  • Strong technical skills including venipuncture, IV catheter placement, anesthesia support, and patient monitoring
  • Ability to prioritize multiple patients in a fast-paced Emergency environment
  • Excellent communication and client service skills
  • Passion for Emergency and Specialty veterinary medicine
  • Fluent English speaking and reading skills required
