Position Summary

The Beverage Shift Supervisor assists in managing the beverage service team and operations during an assigned shift. This position supports exceptional guest satisfaction through effective team training, operational oversight, and a hands-on, lead-by-example management approach.

The Beverage Shift Supervisor helps ensure appropriate staffing, inventory availability, cash-handling compliance, beverage service quality, and adherence to company policies and applicable regulations while supporting the Food & Beverage Manager.

Key Responsibilities

  • Practice, support, and maintain the Mission, Vision, and Values of WarHorse Gaming.
  • Provide the tools, training, communication, and supplies necessary for the beverage team to deliver exemplary guest service.
  • Assist in scheduling beverage team members to ensure appropriate coverage during regular operating hours and special events.
  • Monitor par levels and daily inventory of supplies.
  • Maintain beverage inventory and supplies in accordance with business demands.
  • Participate in weekly inventory and assist the Beverage Manager with weekly and monthly orders.
  • Ensure payment and/or comp authorization is received upon service of all food and beverage items.
  • Assist food and beverage staff with proper cash-register balancing at the end of each shift and report discrepancies to Finance.
  • Ensure prompt, efficient, friendly, and quality beverage service and preparation for all guests.
  • Comply with S.M.A.R.T. or T.I.P.S. training requirements.
  • Authorize comp transactions.
  • Participate in developing drink specials and promotions.
  • Stay current with beverage service and offering trends.
  • Attend periodic meetings and training sessions and ensure beverage team members are compliant with required training and certifications.
  • Comply with all department rules, regulations, policies, procedures, internal controls, and applicable local, state, and federal rules and regulations.
  • Promote positive public and employee relations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications & Experience

Required:

  • Must be 19 years of age or older.
  • Associate degree or equivalent related experience.
  • Three (3) years of experience in food and beverage management, with a minimum of one (1) year in a supervisory capacity in a high-volume beverage gaming operation that includes banquets, entertainment, multiple bars, and restaurants.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • Strong point-of-sale (POS) operational and programming experience.
  • Knowledge of government health, hotel, or food service regulations.
  • Proficiency in operational financial management, accountability, and budgeting.
  • Ability to secure and maintain a Nebraska Gaming License.
  • ServSafe certification.
  • TIPS Alcohol Awareness certification.
  • Responsible for selling, serving, or distributing alcoholic beverages and/or exercising comp authority.

  • Requires the ability to work varying schedules based on the business needs of the property.
  • Requires regular interaction with guests, beverage team members, management, and other departments.
  • Requires the ability to perform supervisory and beverage-service responsibilities during an assigned shift.
